“A Central Pennsylvania Treat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Impeccably clean and delightfully welcoming, the Dillweed Inn is everything a B & B should be. The host has a way about her that makes guests feel at home immediately. The building has been lovingly restored. It is beautiful but not pretentious - a very comfortable place to relax and unwind. There is an electric kettle available for making hot drinks and a good selection of tea and hot chocolate, a much appreciated amenity that comes in handy when perched in front of the lovely fireplace in the parlor! The beds are very comfortable and they are covered with clean, crisp, cotton. Stacks of snowy white towels are supplied. As mentioned in other reviews, breakfast is fantastic. Being a guest at the Dillweed Inn is truly a treat!

The Dillweed is located across from a major trailhead for the Ghost Town Trail, easy access and central to the trail. Rooms are charming, not overly filled with stuff. Cindy was an early activist in trail formation, and is very interesting to talk over a wonderful breakfast. An extra treat would be visiting when the herb gardens are lush. The inn hosts theatrical events, open house, teas. The building was restored with care and historical photos are on the walls, as well as art done by a former partner in the inn restoration. A small cafe, antiques and collectible shop are adjacent.

My wife, two kids, and I stayed here June 2-3, 2012 in the Garden Suite. This room is very spacious, with a double bed, twin, and a couch (where my son slept without protest!), large bathroom, and kitchenette. There was plenty of space to move around and not even get in anyone's way. As DutchH37 mentioned, the place is incredibly clean. The staff and owners were extremely friendly and spent time with us detailing other sites to see off the Ghost Town Trail. For those who are biking, the breakfast was very large and filling. Perfect for a long day of travel! On the way back from biking, we bought some gobs for our trip home. There also is a cafe and store for those who might not want to stay the night, or are just passing through. We can't recommend this place enough. The other drawing point is that the inn is right next door to the Ghost Town Trail. We biked roundtrip to Black Lick on Saturday, and Vintondale on Sunday. It's a great place to plan an adventure.

Room Tip: The Garden Suite is perfect for a family of 3-4.

I stayed here in March 2012 while visiting a friend & helping her w/ planning for her June wedding. I was thrilled with everything about the B&B!!! I had never stayed in a B&B before & I was sold after the first night. I was in the Parsley room both nights: comfortable bed & pillows, great wi-fi signal for my laptop, great view out the windows. Breakfasts were fantastic & more than enough. Delicious breakfasts: stuffed french toast w. fresh strawberries one morning, omlettes the next; fresh fruit plate & yogurt & toast both mornings. Any dietary restrictions are asked about when you book your room. Just a great place w. great people & I am looking forward to staying again in June.

Room Tip: The Parsley & Sage rooms have a private sink in the room & are also at the back of the house...

Dillweed is the best & cleanest B & B we've ever rented. We stayed 3 nights in the Garden Suite. The beds were great. No sags! I slept like a rock. Restaraunts are about 12 miles away, so the small kitchen was handy for quick meals. The couch & chair is very comfortable. The cable tv has lots of stations. Unusual for a relatively remote area. We were there to ride the Ghost Town Trail located just outside our door. Cindy's breakfasts were soooo good too. She gave us some trail history and several details on trail features we might have otherwise missed. We bought sandwiches from the Trailside Shop to eat on our rides. Afterwards, we sat on the front porch eating ice cream from the Shop. We'll definately go back again next summer.

My wife and I had a great stay at the Dillweed. Cory, the owner, was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The breakfasts were outstanding. The chef even let us have the leftover breakfast quiche that we had one of the mornings! The inn has a lot of charm and it's kept in great shape. The entire place is clean and cozy. The mattress and pillows gave us a good night's rest.

My Mother, Sister, and I have been staying at the Dillweed B&B annually for almost 8 years now. We love it so much that we have made it our family tradition. A little get-away away from home to relax in the comforts of a very cozy place. The owners are very wonderful people and treat you like family. The breakfasts are deliciously prepared and never leave you hungry! We absolutely love it! You have perfect access to the Ghosttown trail and the gift shop is adorable with many antiques and unique items. I suggest this get-away for anyone who enjoys the comforts of a home away from home.
