“Stellar Services”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

We received exemplary help along with the Director of Sales along with her staff of Comfort Inn in preparation, our arrival and our departure. I am so grateful about the hospitality that was shown towards Concord Church. To arrive to see our name on your sign was special and a sure welcome to us. Conversing with Edmund on the telephone giving us directions was great. How organized you were with preparations in having the list of names with the room numbers by each one along with all the keys set. You and your staff indeed went beyond making reservations for Concord for dinner at Cracker Barrel then printed out the directions so our bus driver would not get lost. Cannot recall the staff member name that did this; however, great job. Rochelle and your team care about your customers. You all did a great job and I wanted to let you know how impress I was too. I will recommend your Hotel to others in North Carolina.
Thank You again with your stellar services. Danette

This hotel was very convenient to the famous "Antique Mile" of various antique shops. Perfect location to return to after walking and looking at antiques and collectibles all day. All other motels in the area are old, old, old with outside halls so if you are looking for security they will be a problem. A covered outside area with wrought iron tables and chairs and fountain offers a nice relaxing area. Delicious cookies baked daily are also a nice touch. There is even a small bar located in the breakfast area. The large breakfast area is one of the nicest I have seen in Choice Hotels. The offering of waffles, bacon (mounds of it in the steamer!), hard cooked and scrambled eggs, bananas, apples, oatmeal, donuts, Danish, English muffins, three cereals with whole & 2% milk was great. Coffee was not good...tasted like instant but the orange and apple juices were cold and delicious. This hotel is under renovation and soon the short vanities in the bathrooms will be gone. Room was clean and air conditioner worked very well. Pillows.....A++++. Ask for an updated room (if they are now available) like we will do when we return this fall. Dog friendly with nice back green area. We will return and stay here again.

Room Tip: Has two floors but does have elevator.

My sister, niece and I spent a Saturday night at this Comfort Inn. This hotel is situated at the intersection of very busy roads, so there was quite a bit of traffic. We had two rooms, which were comparable, although mine was a little bigger because I had one bed and my sister and niece had two.

The front desk staff were efficient and friendly. Check-in and -out was a breeze.

The beds were comfortable, with a choice of several pillows. The carpet looked new and the room was clean. Wifi worked well in my room and I had a good cell phone signal. We enjoyed a drink at the bar with a very friendly bartender. The breakfast was the typical Comfort Inn breakfast, although the eggs were much better than I'd had the previous weekend at another Comfort Inn. There was coffee available at all times, and it was very good. The breakfast area is large and kept clean.

There is an area outside the front door with tables and chairs where we spent some time, although it is on a noisy street and there is a convenience store/gas station directly across the road.

Unfortunately, the lighting in the bathroom was horrendous. Even worse, the hallway lighting was almost non-existent. I know hotels are trying to use the new light bulbs to cut down on energy, but it was almost impossible to see how to insert my card key correctly. The bathroom was awkwardly laid out and the sink was practically at knee height. But it was clean and had plenty of towels.

Every hotel has doors that SLAM (and I make note of that in almost every hotel review!), so the only real quiet time was between midnight and 6 AM. I use the HVAC system to try to drown out road noise and hallway noise.

The location was convenient to visiting the antique stores in Adamstown. There are several restaurants in the area. I thought the price I paid was fair. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: The rooms on the back of the hotel (odd numbers) are away from the road and should be quieter.

We spent one night here. The management was very nice and accommodating. Check in went very smoothly. The room was very well appointed and spacious. My husband didn't think we had a refrigerator because it was housed in a very nice cabinet! The bed was comfortable and we had a choice of pillows for use. Our only complaints were an unusual odor in the room and the placement of the oblong toilet which didn't allow one to close the door with the seat down! It was a very small bathroom.
Management was very nice about the odor, even offering to switch our room. We preferred to stay out of a smoking hallway soI opted to ask for a room deodorizer which the manager would have been glad to deliver. It somewhat did the job. I really was not bothered until after breakfast the next morning when we reentered the room. The odor was still there, strong as ever.
Breakfast was as advertised. There were hot eggs and bacon as well as waffles you could make. Fresh fruit and an assortment of bakery goodies were available. Coffee was offered in the lobby all day.
Although the Turnpike was close to our room we really didn't notice any noise.
I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We prefer rooms on a second floor and ours was at the end of the hall. We didn't really hear any...

Stopped overnight with our pet on the way to Philadelphia. Appreciated the large green space by the hotel to walk our dog. Found the room to be very clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast in the morning with tables outside. Easy access to Turnpike. Would stay here again.

Carpets in the public areas did not look clean. Lots of cosmetic work needed all over the ageing hotel. Bad smells in many public areas/hallways, like cigarette smoke stench. I was in a non smoking room, that smelled like lots of smokers had been in there. Easy parking, a 24 hour gas station/convenience store across the street is helpful to have. The room seemed clean, other than the bad smells, carpet in the room seemed fairly new. Very thin towels, really just acceptable at best. The pool is just surrounded by concrete, so not real glamorous at all.

I prefer eating in big chain restaurants rather than local diners, and you had to drive over 30 minutes to Lancaster for that. But I did go to a nearby diner and it was ok. Location is in the center of the big antique malls in the area, so very convenient for that. Just off Pennsylvania Turnpike, the Interstate, and some other important highways. Some of the staff were friendly, but others seemed a bit cold. The free breakfast was just acceptable at best. I suspect the scrambled eggs were powdered from a mix. The free wifi was very slow, and went out for short periods a few times. It was almost unusable. Also, no great cell phone signal in the area for my phone service. Nice big t.v. with HBO in the room was nice to have. No alcohol in the area on Sundays, due to "blue laws" in the area that go back hundreds of years.

Thank you for your review.

We have been doing a lot of updating to our hotel in recent months. We installed all new carpet in all of the guest rooms, have new bedding, are in the process of installing new tub surrounds and vanities in the bathrooms as well as new curtains in the guest rooms.

Our bath towels are a Choice Hotel standard--you will find the same towels as every Comfort Inn across the country.

Our pool did not look to glamorous during your stay because it was not open to our guests. All of our furniture, planters and colorful umbrellas were in storage for the winter-- and we sure had a LONG winter here in PA! We were quite jealous of the folks out west during our sub-zero degree days! But, the pool opened this past weekend (Memorial Day Weekend), and I can assure you it looks very different that when you were here.

You definitely didnt need to drive over 30 minutes to a "big chain restaurant." We have an Appleby's less than 10 minutes away as well as an Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, Outback Steakhouse, Texas Roadhouse, Buca Di Beppo and Smokey Bones less than 15 minutes away.

I am sorry you did not enjoy our breakfast. I can assure you our eggs are NOT powdered--they are in fact scrambled eggs. Our breakfast is usually what our guests tell us they enjoyed most about their say--it is quite extensive. Aside from the scrambled eggs we also have fresh bacon, waffles, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, danish, bagels, English muffins, danish, Quaker oatmeal ins several flavors, fruit, cereals and donuts. I am sorry you couldnt find something you liked.

I am not sure why you would have had a cell phone service problem. We may be in "Amish Country" I promise that cell phones are as widely used here as they are anywhere else in the country and a bad signal has never been an issue.

As for "no alcohol in the area on Sundays," this is just simply not true. OUR hotel bar is closed on Sundays, but there are plenty of places to have a drink. Zia Maria, Stoudts Brewery, Riviera, Kyma, and Johnny's Steakhouse are just a few within one mile of here. The Blue Laws that you mentioned have not been in effect here since 1979.

We may not be as glamorous as a Las Vegas hotel, but for quaint little Lancaster County we sure do our best to make our guest feel comfortable and welcome.

Thank you for taking a moment out of your day to write a review.

We stayed in this Comfort Inn for two nights, and really enjoyed our stay! I can't say enough about how friendly the staff is, and how helpful. We had bought some food at the farmers market and they even helped us put ice in the cooler! The room was spacious, clean, and had a good sized refrigerator to keep our snacks and drinks in. The bed was comfortable, and had a choice of firm or soft pillows to your liking. The breakfast which is included was great....and as good, if not better than the more expensive chains' breakfast and included crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, waffle maker, and so much more! The minute someone got up to leave, they cleaned the table, and always were there making sure the food was stocked and fresh. A+ to the staff on both service and friendliness!! Would definitely stay again when in the area, close to all the area has to offer!!!!
