“Another Place During D & L's Travels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2014

Great place to stay to get away from it all. Highly recommend during the off season. NO ONE AROUND! We took are Wrangler and had a great time 4x4ing on the trails (remember to take extra clothing, water and equipment if you get stuck). Well worth it. We had a very small cabin which was great. The stone fire place heated the whole cabin. Fed the deer apples right out side our door. Even tobogganed. The hot tub was a great ending experience to our stay. Went in at night & watched deer walking past. If you have time especially in Jan or Feb go to Elk Co. go off the pavement onto cabin roads & look for Elk. We saw about 140. But you MUST have a real 4x4 (not a sissy suv) know its limitations & how to drive it (we ended up in 10 in. of snow). Once you get back in the woods your only way out is to drive or walk.

Room Tip: Again go in the winter for peace and quiet. Unless you want kids and screeming parents every place y...

We appreciate your review. It sounds like you had an awesome time doing everything you wanted and nothing that you didn't. That's the beauty of it in the off-season months. We hope to see you back again soon. Weekdays, even in the in-season months, are still quiet. Most travelers with kids come on the weekends.

We stayed in cabin #8, the Abe Lincoln cabin. It was a great cabin for a couple to stay in, very cozy but we never felt cramped for space. It was adorably decorated and warm, well-stocked kitchen with everything we needed for cooking. It was tall enough for a 6' tall person, so long as you watched the doorways ;) The Hominy Ridge owners were very accommodating with meeting our needs, access to the hot tub, maps, and local info. The hot tub itself was great, and we loved how it looked out into the woods. One night a dozen deer trotted past us while we were in it.
We mostly do cabin camping in the cold months, preferring tent camping in the summer. It can be hard to find good places that are open in the winter, and Hominy Ridge was a welcome gem. They have great winter rental rates and special deals on top of it. Highly recommended.

We are a group of women who rented the cabin for a weekend winter retreat. We had a wonderful, relaxing time! The weather was a bit chilly but we stayed nice and warm in the cabin! We will definitely be returning and hope to use the same cabin.

We stayed in cabin #6, which was perfect for the two of us. The fireplace in the living room was awesome, as was the hot tub in the woods. The owners were great hosts and super friendly. We will definitely go back!

The cabin was very nice, quiet and clean with a real fireplace for a romantic feel.
The grounds were lovely, nestled up to the Cook forest; and the owners Paula & Andy
do a great job keeping the roads plowed and manning the super cute and well stocked country store. My wife and I loved our stay and know you will too. We'll be back soon.

Thanks Guys!

I used to come to Hominy Ridge for years, but since we bought a camper I haven't been there for quite some time. I was definitely very happy to come back! The lodge suites we rented (2 & 3) were clean and comfortable, and have everything you need! Very nice store below, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place!
