“SUBLIME”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

The food at Blackfish is not to be missed. There is a reason that it was voted the best restaurant in Philadelphia. It is a BYOB, so bring a nice bottle of wine and order the chef's tasting menu, sit back, and let course after course of one of the best meals of your life unfold.

“Delicious cuisine in an upscale BYOB”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

If you wish to enjoy a superb meal with friends and have attentive knowledgeable wait staff, this isTHE place to eat in the Philly suburbs. Probably some of the best fish, meats and salads you could hope to experience.

“Good, with limitations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

There's little you can find wrong with Blackfish. It's a top-rate restaurant located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. The flavors of the food are delightful, and the wait staff is first class. What isn't great is the limited menu, and the lack of anything vegetarian. We assumed since it was seafood, we could make do with a seafood dish. Alas, most of the main dishes included meat. We were able to mix and match off the mains in order to get something vegetarian, but it surprised me that a restaurant of this caliber didn't account for what is a rather large vegetarian population in this area.

Still, the food we did order was delicious, and the service was sublime. If you're a foodie, this is a great place to try. Just go with a large wallet -- it's not cheap.

“In a word "YUM"”

Delicious and creative dishes. Do not miss the foie gras in either the terrine or soup-- both outstanding.

Also loved the longfin tuna, cauliflower pana cotta, hangar steak.

“Close to perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

I travel a lot on business, and am always look for somewhere special outside whatever hotel I'm staying in. This is the best I've found for a very long time, and is all the more surprising for being in suburbia as opposed to upmarket downtown. Welcoming atmosphere and staff. Stunning food with a mixture of the safe (e.g. smoked salmon starters) or the adventurous (sweetbreads, short rib ravioli). BYOB enables you to enjoy all this with a better bottle of wine you have brought yourself (a modest upside of Pennsylvania's truly idiotic licensing laws).
