5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

The place is located in the mountains, it has an amazing climate and a very hospitable environment.
The owner treated us very nice and cooked an amazing meal.
We fell in love with her dog and ended up staying there for several hours!
The cabins look cozy, a perfect place to relax and escape from the hot weather!

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

The Grill at Mombacho Lodge is so much more than a restaurant. We were met by Cynthia and her two beautiful dogs on the trail leading to the restaurant. By the time we reached the restaurant we felt like family. I started with a glass of her sangria. I could have stayed the entire afternoon, just sipping glasses of sangria. Her signature dish of salmon hash was excellent. Cynthia took the beauty of the area and built a lodge with 4 cabins and an open air restaurant in the middle of this cool and breezy forest. She is very knowledgeable about the vegetation that makes up the forest and is only too happy to share her knowledge. My only regret was not having time to walk the trails around the lodge. Would I go back? In a heartbeat.

“Great Food, Fabulous Oasis!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013

As a very large hiking group, we descended on Cynthia, the owner of the Lodge and Grill, after a two hour hike feeling thirstier than 16 dry sponges and proceeded to drink all her Tona. She took our orders, fired up the grill and as we drank and laughed and talked lunch was served.
The setting is exquisite and gorgeous, fabulously tucked into the Volcanic jungle on the side of Mombacho. The Grill is clean and postcard pretty with flower arrangements on all the tables. I'll let my photos show you the ambience. It's open-aired, surrounded by lush greenery and everything you'd want in a lunch stop. I had the cheeseburger which was delicious and my friends had grilled garlic eggplant, grilled cheese, steak sandwiches, quesadillas, gazpacho soup, succulent potato fries in onions and several other things I can't remember. The food was excellent, the service was quick and friendly, the music was lively. Next time, I'm getting a cabin and staying to enjoy dinner too!

“Wow for ambience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

This restaurant has wonderful, tranquil ambience. You really get the feeling of being at one with nature, as this restaurant is right in the forest, with huge trees and loads of tropical vegetation. The food is simple, honest, homemade good, and well worth going off the beaten trail at Mombacho for a meal. We had lunch there and the temperature was heavenly after the heat of Granada. Try the sangria, it's great and so was my burger. My husband really enjoyed his salmon hash.

“One of a kind in this area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Half way up the volcano we had a first class lunch...well done and a good selection of dishes. I had only a burger but as good as any in Granada area. But what really makes it stand out is the location...cool and breezy and gorgeous scenery. Went for a burger and stayed for five more drinks just to be there and look at views. Nothing like it around here.

Worth a stop if you are near the park or even a special visit from Granada.
