I last stayed here two years ago. Wow. What a difference. It's gone downhill, and the price was higher. Yikes.
I was excited about using the hot tub, only to find out it was only for people in a different building. This was not made clear when I reserved a room, and had evidently been assigned a room in that building previously. Very disappointing.
The indoor pool was freezing. Even hyperactive kids were sad because it was unbearable, and the property roped it off for a wedding reception in the afternoon! Ridiculous.
The room was falling apart. The knob on the faucet in the tub fell off in my hand, and the front of the room heater fell off in the middle of the night. Also, the tv was wacky--all kinds of weird wavy lines and distortion while we watched football one night.
This inn has a good restaurant and bar, but it's pricey for the quality. Luckily, the hotel is located right next to a very busy highway, with lots of fast food. Keep looking if you want a nice, secluded country inn. This hotel is right next to the overpass at the end of the PA Turnpike.
A guest was complaining at check-in that there was no complimentary breakfast. "Not even continental?" she asked. "All the other motels here have that" The staff motioned to their restaurant across the parking lot. The guest asked if there was a discount. Nope. She shook her head and stormed out to get her bags.
Way, way too expensive for a falling-apart hotel with limited amenities. Next time I'll go to the Hampton inn down the street. They'll have a pool and hot tub that's open, a free breakfast, and a money back guarantee.
