“Beautiful House, Friendly Hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We were the only guests here on the Friday night we stopped on our way to Chicago. The B&B is in the University town of Clarion about 10 mile off Interstate 80. Bill welcomed us and we chatted a bit while he showed us our room. This house is just flat out lovely, clean as a whistle, and very big. Some of the largest rooms we've seen in a B&B. Bill told us that we'd be on our own the next morning as both he and Judy would be out. Coffee was ready as was breakfast in the kitchen. We had several choices, both hot and cold and helped ourselves before getting back on the road.

We stayed at Clarion B&B recently to attend our daughters graduation from the university. The room was beautifully decorated with lots of quirky interesting pieces. A special treat were the beautifully decorated Christmas trees, especially the large one in the downstairs parlor.

Hosts Bill and Judy, were very pleasant, helpful and wonderful providers of delicious breakfasts.

The bed in the teal room was so comfortable and the whole house has been lovingly restored to it's former glory.

So close to everything in Clarion, very peaceful, a great destination for a romantic weekend away, or overnight or long term stay

I was visiting Clarion University and the location of this place is excellent, less than 2 blocks to the campus. Nice old house in great shape, very clean rooms, each has its own bathroom. Great water pressure, friendly owner.

The proprietor was very friendly. It felt more business-like rather than staying in someone's personal space (which I liked). The room and en suite bathroom were immaculate, the cleanest of any place I've ever stayed. The bed was fine.

The floors really creaked and I was woken up when people can in late at night.

Breakfast was adequate.

This was a lovely and comfortable B&B with friendly hosts – it is mid-size with five guest bedrooms in total. My husband and I stayed here for a night while travelling from across Pennsylvania. We paid $85/night plus tax for the king bed Teal Room.

The room (and the rest of the house) was filled with antiques, which gave it a really unique atmosphere – we enjoyed them for one night although if we had been staying longer and wanted to unpack further we might have found the room a little cluttered (and of course it depends on your taste). There was a sitting area for guests and the house was also surrounded by a beautiful garden – it looked like there were chairs provided for relaxing out there. Wi-fi was available but the signal wasn’t very strong.

The hosts were friendly and welcoming without being overbearing – we particularly appreciated their graciousness about our late arrival (we were delayed en route so ended up arriving later than planned).

Breakfast was amazing – as vegetarians we had cheese soufflé, a piece of homemade cake and fruit salad (including some raspberries from the host’s garden). It was really tasty, freshly made and just right to start the day (not too heavy but still filling). Breakfast was served round one big table, so an opportunity to meet and chat to other guests (although whether this is good or bad depends on your preferences I guess!) There were only a couple of other guests there at the same time as us, but we enjoyed talking to them.

Clarion itself seemed like a sweet if quiet little town – we were only passing through and it made an ideal stopping place for us. I understand that many of the guests are visiting the university in the town as the B&B is very close to it. All in all, a thumbs up for this lovely B&B!
