Two of my cousins and I met in Chambersburg to celebrate my pending wedding; we happened to pick Chamberfest weekend, which was an added bonus. So was staying at Lillie's. What makes me give Lillie's Garden B&B a 5 rating isn't: That Lillie made the reservation process smooth and asked about special dietary needs; the wonderful setting in a neighborhood full of grand and well tended homes; her actual garden where we sat on in the afternoon enjoying the shade (and champagne toasts); or the charming decor of the rooms we had.
What pushed it up was Lillie herself. She is a most gracious hostess--truly making us feel welcome and as if we were long-term friends instead of paying guests. And yes--breakfast was terrific with home made muffins and the lightest omelets! Fresh fruit, coffee, glasses of juice...and Hibiscus flowers on the table. It was all wonderful.
Lillie's openness made it easy for us to come and go throughout the day without feeling like an interference.
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation.
