“Thank God for My Wife's i-Phone!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We were planning on eating at 1906 at Longwood Gardens, but they were booked solid. Fortunately my wife was able to look up other nearby restaurants on her i-Phone and we stumbled into a fantastic restaurant with Brandywine Prime.

The interior has beautiful stone and wood work and the food was phenomenal. We'll definitely be stopping in there again as my wife and I spend a lot of time at Longwood enjoying the flowers and displays and Brandywine Prime is just down the road about 15 minutes in Chadds Ford.

We liked everything from the tea and salad through the entree and desert. I had a special venison chop that was so tender and delicious I almost ordered another, but was too full to eat any more.

The atmosphere was quiet and the server was very friendly and informative with all the specials and other questions we had with the menu.

“The spoiled brat in me with exceedingly high standards is deeply satisfied by this brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

In a gorgeous 300-year-old stone building, we had a sumptuous brunch. You're allowed to choose from the main entrée menu and then you get to go to a beautiful brunch buffet that had fresh salads with perfect baby spinach greens and delicate potato and pasta salads, and sliced meats and cheese table, chilled shrimp, and an extensive dessert table. Exceptionally, the day we were there they had free mimosas. This restaurant passed several litmus tests, for example the crème brûlée which is a test of any chef, was divine, and the little mini carrot cakes had a rich cream cheese icing, not the fake icing that inferior kitchens use. A quiet, romantic ambience with a refined yet not stuffy atmosphere. Granny likes the salmon entree (she asked that I write that). Husband ordered a hamburger with strict instructions on preparation and it was served perfectly (he asks wherever we go and rarely gets what he asks for). Not an extensive set of choices for a buffet, however, each dish was created with the finest ingredients and are all very satisfying. Granny said from soup to desert; it was fabulous. Keep in mind this is understated elegance with sophisticated food. Bring your foodie friends who will be surprised how elegantly you can dine for under $20.

“Favorite Local Steakhouse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

Brandywine Prime is our favorite steakhouse in the Brandywine area. The filet is always perfect with the best flavor and texture in the area. The seafood dishes are excellent as well, especially the scallops. We have found the value to be competitive with other steakhouses. We have had less expensive filets but the cuts were the less expensive parts of the tenderloin with different aging and just don’t measure up to Brandywine Prime. The green beans could be less “crunchy” but that’s a matter of personal taste. The sides are more than adequate and always good. If a quite area is desired, ask for the second floor when making your reservation.

“As casual or upscale as you wish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Head to the bar/tavern for great daily specials. For more upscale dining, keep walking into the dining room which also offers great daily specials and pricing. Manager always onsite and visible, most servers are longtime employees who become familiar friends.
