“Fabulous Wedding Venue!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Kim hosted a flawless outdoor wedding for our daughter and son-in-law on a perfect October day. The whole family stayed in the B and B, and everything from breakfast to the garden to coordinating with the caterer was done with care and professionalism. I can't say enough good things about how beautiful and well run Fall Tree Farm B and B is!

Pull off the highway and wind your way through a wooded drive to a peaceful homestead. This classic farmhouse is beautifully appointed to take you back in time. We stayed in the Graham Retreat room and had a cozy evening by the fire. Featherbed mattress toppers welcome you to a wonderful night's sleep. Kim is a consumate host and a great cook. Our breakfast of grilled grapefruit, goat cheese and sun dried tomato tart, bacon, corn muffins, and blueberry tart desert was delicious. You'll love this place. collapse

Staying at Fallen Tree Farm was one of the most pleasant hotel/travel experiences of my life. We rented the entire inn for my husband's family to visit, and it couldn't have been a better experience.

The rooms are great: charming, historical, idiosyncratic, incredibly comfortable--and all without exploding with doilies or frills. Each room has been renovated over the past few years by someone with a great eye and a great deal of taste. We stayed in the Botanical Library, which was cozy and romantic without being at all fussy. I loved how flexible the space was: the Grey Mare's Quarters slept four tall men easily, while we used Coyle's Hideaway as a private spot for a young married couple. My in-laws spent the night in Graham's Retreat, which had a beautiful porch and a fantastic fireplace. (All the fireplaces are laid for burning if the weather's right.)

The rest of the inn is similarly wonderful. Kim, the owner, is welcoming and warm without being the least bit overbearing. Breakfast is fantastic. The outside firepit is perfect for snuggling up on a colder night, and the horses are great fun to watch. The flexibility means the place is great for family or for friends, but it could also be a great place for a romantic weekend away--something we plan to do ourselves in the near future.

I would recommend Fallen Tree Farm in a heartbeat.

We are so glad we stopped in Carlisle to break up our drive to Poughkeepsie for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed our stay at Fallen Tree. We had the third floor bedroom which was charming and comfortable. Kim's sister was breakfast chef and we enjoyed chatting with her. Definitely think this family is in the right business. They enjoy people and are having a good time sharing their historic property with others. Also enjoyed getting to know some of Carlisle. Saw the new exhibit at the Military Museum and found a good restaurant and ice cream palour. We will be back

What a wonderful hidden gem! We had a wonderful stay and felt like we were spending the night at a friend's house. When we arrived, we were greeted by the two resident dogs. We unpacked and went out to dinner. We told them that we were going to start a fire when we got back. They not only started the fire but set out smores for us to make. I would highly recommend this beautiful place.

Looking for peace and serenity? Spend a night (or several) at the Fallen Tree Farm B&B. My niece had booked her wedding next Fall there and now I know why. The historic house is charming and the surrounding grounds are beautifully landscaped and provide a peaceful sanctuary. The owners, Kim and Brent, are so friendly and accomodating, and all but tuck you into the big, comfy bed at night. Each breakfast was a wonderful treat. Can't wait to go back.

We decided to break up our drive to Port Washington, NY in June by staying overnight in Carlisle, a small town about which we knew little. We picked Fallen Tree Farm B&B among several that were available in the area and are glad we did. The setting is quiet and beautiful yet not very far from downtown Carlisle. We had to stay in the 2-bedroom suite because it was the only room available. It was more than comfortable and included more amenities than I could have thought to ask for. After spending a few hours in Carlisle, we came back to Fallen Tree, sat on the patio near the fireplace with a cold bottle of wine, roasted a few marshmallows, then walked over to the lawn on the opposite side of the farmhouse where some program was playing on a huge flatscreen TV surrounded by 10 or more chairs. Not that we wanted to watch TV, but we couldn't help ourselves. We just had to sit there for a while under the dark sky in the cool night air, enjoying the unusual event. The next morning we were treated with a gourmet breakfast prepared by Kim. Had we known how great this place is, we would have arrived a day earlier.
