The owner announced they were going to close then the owner Patrick Andrews announced new investors on board and and would stay open. He sold food shares for $250 but there were no new investors. He stiffed the Carlisle Theatre on rent, local vendors, he stiffed people who invested in him, and then hid behind bankruptcy. He should never get a job in this town again.

“Quaint with good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

Though a bit on the pricey side for me, the food was delicious. Some of the best calamari I've ever had. Loved the water glasses made out of wine bottles... reaffirmed the "green" in the name.

“Creative, delicious food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The Green Room has gotten it together! We have been many times over the past few months and food has consistently been excellent and service is very good as well - both at lunch and dinner. And brunch which we enjoyed on their "opening day".

The menu is updated regularly with a wonderful variety of options. The risotto is (or at least has been!) vegetarian (thank you thank you thank you!). There are options for gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan and as much food as possible is sourced locally and is organic, pastured, etc. The specials are very creative and delicious. The regular menu offers great options as well.

One thing I'm looking for when I go out to eat is to get food that I don't normally make at home and to get food that is better than what I can make at home. The Green Room has definitely accomplished this.

The addition of music on Tuesday and Thursday nights has also been very enjoyable.

They do continue to be BYOB as of right now. As mentioned in another post, there is also the option to purchase a "food share". $250 for $300 worth of gift certificates, $500 for $600 worth of certificates, and $1000 for $1200 worth of gift certificates.

This is definitely a must try and a must frequent!!!

“Unique food, done well - sit outside if you can!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

Great place that pays great attention to the details, with excellent results. All of our food here has been fantastic, and the service is great. Bring a bottle of wine and sit outside on a nice day to really enjoy downtown Carlisle.

“Finally reaches potential”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

We have wanted to like this restaurant since it opened and we gave it several tries before concluding it was not going to rise above mediocrity. Recently, however, the place has gotten a new chef and the change in the menu is like going from night to day. Not only is the food well prepared, but it is also well conceived, inventive, and well presented. I understand the owner has barely avoided having to close down recently for financial reasons but has managed to attract new investors and he will remain open. If he manages to keep the same personnel in the kitchen, we will be doing our part in the future to keep his revenues up.
