We walked in to the office? mudd room to see his office was on run down washer and dryer. The room smelled and had spider webs everywhere. The buildings were falling down, windows with no glass and curtains blowing out. There was no resturant and bar. This might of been nice 30 years ago but the place looks like a deserted lodge. It had absolutely no up keep and was disgusting!!! Needless to say we walked in our room and left 5 min. later and will NEVER return! I will never go by pictures on the internet again. Save your money and time and stay home where you know who's body was last on the bed and shower. I would rather camp in a tent then to stay there!!!

this was the worst resort i have ever been to the pictures are totally different then the real the real thing we stayed in the wippoprwill suite which costed 348 dollars for two nights the room was filty the jaquzzi had female hair and good only knows what else floating in it i called the office only to be informed the housekeeper was gone for the day the manager came and poured pine soil in it and left . i asked to be moved to another room but couldnt be moved because they claimed they had no other rooms and if i wanted the following morning the house keeper would clean the room but since i was only staying 2 days i would have to pay an additional 10 dollars. i had to travel to the walmart to buy gloves and cleanind supplies also some sheets since my pillow cases on the bed were covered in what looked like dry spit but who knows we made it threw the night and the next morning after telling the manager/owner how nasty the room was once again and getting no where we checked out early and got a room at the comfort in and suites again this room was filthy

My husband and I just returned from a weekend for our anniversary. I had booked online to stay at Hillside. Believe me when I say, pictures are deceiving. When we arrived, we were like oh' may not be as bad as the outside. We checked in, went to our room, The Colonial Cottage, turned around and walked out. The wall paper was up with thumb tacks, smelled horrible, carpet disgusting, not to mention the missing tiles in the heart shaped tub. This place REALLY needs to be updated. Take it from experience, NEVER GO BY THE PICTURES YOU SEE ONLINE!!! Needless to say, our money was refunded, except $25.00, maybe they can use that to fix the tiles or something. We went right down the road and stayed at the Naomi Village, which was our first pick, but didnt. They were so nice and accomadating to us, they even dropped the price below the "last minute deal". Paid the same price for the weekend and had a nice big jacuzzi, full kitchen and a sauna in are room with a screened in porch. naomi Village wasn't "high class", but we consider it high class compared to HillSide. DO NOT STAY, reminded my husband of the resort off of Dirty Dancing, but in worse condition!!!!!

The cottage we stayed at was nice although there was a musty smell inside. The jacuzzi did not work properly, only 3 working jets. There was hair all over the shower from the people that stayed there before us. The carpet throws could use a good cleaning, had stains all over them. I am thinking housekeeping just vacums and fixes beds and gives clean towels and skips cleaning showers and tubs. The pool/ sauna and hot tub was nice. As far as ground amenities such as miniature golf and the tennis court ect...it is very run down. The golf course has moss growing over it. The only thing to do on the grounds was go to the pool/ hot tub and sauna. The lodge website makes it seem MUCH better then what it is...and should not call it a resort. A couple we talked to told us they had a heart shaped tub in their room and they had to go to a store and buy cleaning supplies to scrub the tub out, it has not been cleaned for a long time and as they scrubbed it the water turned brown from the filth. We expected it to be a nice place as their website shows, it was not worth the rate we were charged. It needs a lot of work.

We go to the Poconos every year for the Fourth of July and we've stayed at several places out there so we're pretty familiar with the area. I would say that this place is now our number one choice going forward. We stayed in an enchanted cottage, which truly was enchanting. The kids stayed in the living room while we had a huge hot tub right there in our bedroom with luxurious lighting above. The cottage was HUGE, clean, and neat. We had a nice deck with a view of the woods where we actually got to see two deer come up near us.
