“Pretty hotel but considering the price, the service was terrible.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2008

We stayed two nights for our friend's wedding. The hotel is pretty and the room was comfy enough and clean. No major problems there. But it was expensive and we were disappointed in the service.

Upon checking in, no one helped us with our bags. We were two women with several heavy bags and no one offered us any help. There were two guys watching us lug our stuff in. One was making Friday night plans on his cell phone. They didn't even acknowledge us. The person who checked us in wasn't friendly at all and didn't tell us where the elevators were or anything. We then dragged our stuff down the hallway to the elevator and again, no one offered to help.

The next day, we were in need of clean towels so we could shower for the wedding. We went out at 9am and came back at 3:30pm, assuming that 6.5 hours was enough time for housekeeping to make up the room. WRONG! No one had been in there. We even had the "please make up our room" sign on the door and housekeeping was on our floor when we left, but 6.5 hours later, nothing.

So I figured, forget the room, we just need towels. I called downstairs at 3:30 and asked for towels. The front desk girl sounded annoyed but said she'd send someone up. 3:45 and no towels. I call downstairs again, she says ok, someone will be right up. 4:00, still no towels. So I went out into the hallway and up to the maid's cart and asked her for some towels. Her response was "I'm getting to you room as soon as I can". I said "I don't care about my room, we need towels please". She looked at me like I was crazy! But she gave me the towels. Excuse me, I have to be at a wedding at 5:30!!

So we leave for the wedding at 5:15 and guess what, no one ever came up with the towels the front desk girl had promised us.

Upon checking out the next day, the front desk girl was rather cold to us (again). And we were charged more than what we were told on the phone when we booked the room. There was supposed to be a wedding rate for the rooms but they charged us more.

I would not stay here again, needless to say.

Went to Blue Bell for a client meeting and the client has reserved a block of rooms at Normandy Farm. The room was clean, enough power outlets for all the usual business traveller items (phone, ipod, laptop, hairdryer, etc). The wifi signal was very weak so had to request an ethernet cable from the front desk. Business center was not mentioned in the services book on the room's desk, but it had 2 PCs and free printing.

Was amused by the vending machine that sold deodorant, toothbrush, combs, etc.

We had our October 2007 wedding reception at the golf club (Blue Bell Country Club) associated with the Normandy Farm Hotel. The staff was wonderful and the food was really good. Our guests are still telling us what a great time they had. All three ballrooms at the hotel and golf club are beautiful and unique.

We had about 20 hotel rooms booked at the hotel for the weekend. Check-in went very smoothly and the shuttle was a big help. The hotel is only 2 years old, so it still sparkles.

We've eaten at the hotel several times during our wedding prep and it's great. The Sunday brunch is outstanding and the sandwiches and lobster chowder at lunch are yummy. We'll definitely return to eat.

Definitely the best suburban hotel in this area.

We stayed here for a business conference. When we first checked in, we were told that the hotel had been overbooked and so we did not have a room (it was around 6pm). They gave us accomodations at the Marriott approximately four miles away. After we expressed our displeasure at having to relocate, the manager offered us free dinner at the Coleman restaurant. Once we were able to check in the next night, we had a pleasant stay. The rooms were slightly small given the prices, but the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and beautiful. The breakfast buffet in the morning had scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage/bacon, potatoes, cereal, fruit, and other dry breakfast items. The lobby was pleasant enough with newspapers and ample seating.

Stayed here for business and it's hard to say anything positive or negative about the place. It was basically a very boring suburban hotel. None of the staff stood out as especially friendly or helpful but then they were not rude or disconnected either. They just performed as robotic hotel employees. I think they were going for a french country motiff in the rooms and it was a nice deviation from the cookie-cutter furniture but the heating unit was as loud and obnoxious as possible but at least it drowned out any possibility of outside noises. The small lobby bar was exceptionally plain, they must have run out of money when it came to decorating this area. Overall I hope I do not have to stay there again, but if it's at someone else's expense it will do.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2006

We needed a place to stay while in town for the LiveStrong Challenge and found this hotel to be ideally located. It was situated on the opposite corner from the community college where the event was starting so we didn't need to fight for parking that morning, we just walked over. The room was a little on the small side but was absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub but didn't get out to check out the rest of the property. The continental breakfast had the usual assortment of fruit and bagels. We would definately stay here again.

  • Liked — Convenience to our event
  • Disliked — Rooms a little small
