“Great food in a vintage setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

The dining room is pure 1960s. Traditional kind of service. We had an excellent meal here with a creative and inventive menu very well executed. Prices run about $30 per entree, but are reasonable considering the level of quality. We were a large, noisy party of characters, and the restaurant dealt with us with patience and care. They even made a special order appetizer which was not on the menu as a surprise and without being asked. Very solid, impressive job there. We had a great time, thought the food was terrific and will definitely return when in the area.

“A Gem In The Pocono Mountains”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We ate in the Pub area of the restaurant. A casual dining setting. Actually it was very nice, with table cloths and napkins. brick walls and a large working fireplace. The wait staff was accommodating but not intrusive. Plates were taken away without disrupting the conversation. A complementary Amuse-bouche of fresh Calamari was perfectly seasoned. One of my favorites is the Frites (potatoes) cooked light inside and seasoned crispy outside. Give me that and the Kobe Beef sliders and that is the perfect PUB food. The clams in garlic sauce with fresh spinach was very good. CAVEAT no need of those little salad shrimp. They took away from the taste and texture of the clams. And maybe a bit more lemon & garlic. Fresh Spinach strips were nice. Martini was dry and icy. Dessert tray was lovely. White chocolate ravioli filled with berry was so good.. John our primary waiter was excellent.

“Great place to stay in the Poconos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We found the Blakeslee Inn a good place to spend the night and a great place to enjoy a very nice dinner. We were traveling through on our was to Brimfield, Massachusetts. The room charge was very reasonable considering the location (Poconos) and less than most other motels in the area.

The Mother's Day brunch was over (we knew that was going to be the case). So we had the place almost to ourselves. Our waiter staff took great care of us and we enjoyed a great meal.

“Foodie HEAVEN!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Absolutely delicious w/ exceptional service by Dana. But not your typical dishes sized for 2 year olds...creative combinations & really large portions. My husband was thrilled! I loved the extra "touches"....a Chef's complimentary taste...& an intermezzo....meat was perfectly cooked for him & my Monkfish & Pokenta was so wonderful! We'll be back - there are SO MANY other things I want to try! (And 2 other areas w/ their own menus - an Italian menu w/ home-made pastas & a creative pub menu, too.

“Wow! Spectacular.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

If you want to have a wonderful lovely romantic evening in the Blakeslee/Big Boulder area than this is your spot. The price is somewhat expensive for the quantity of food you receive but I guarantee it is the best tasting meal you'll enjoy anywhere in the Pocono Mt. region.
