“A great history lesson”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

We just happened upon this traveling from Pottstown to Pottsville, PA. It was a great little tour with several out buildings to visit. The walking path they have provided is very well maintained. I also loved the little gift shop and the tour guide dressed as they did 200 years ago.

“Educational and Nice Grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Nice afternoon trip for the kids. During the fall season they offer educational outings and a 'Heritage Tour'. You can roam freely on the grounds if you would rather not pay the entrance fee during business hours to tour the Homestead itself. You can also bring your dog (on a leash of course) to the picnic and walking trail area. Especially nice during the Spring and Fall and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

“Where Daniel lived for a while”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Daniel Boone spent a few years in Pennsylvania and this is the reconstructed Boone Homestead. Also on the property is a reconstructed Bertolet Sawmill. Worth a visit if in the Reading PA area.

“meh”

I think this is a great place for locals to walk their dogs or take their kids biking. Wouldn't make a special trip to see it though.

“Informative tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

We got a "private" tour from Barry on a very hot day. He was good, had to keep referring to notes, but was able to answer questions well. I would definately suggest spending the money for a guided tour rather than self guided if you plan to visit here.
