We visited Bird in Hand in early September. The country side is absolutely beautiful and serene. We found it to be a very relaxing experience. We saw the play Sara and Abraham a Journey of Love at the millenium theater and it was absolutly beautiful!!! We also visited Hershey's Chocolate World and the trolly tour was great with a lot of information and great chocolate samples!! A very brief tour of Gettysburg only whetted our appetite to return there for another visit.
Would recommend the trip to Lancaster County, Bird in Hand, Intercourse and surrounding attractions. We stayed at Hawthorn Inns and Suites in Lancaster, nice hotel except for the location. It is located off the Lincoln Ave. exit and can be quite noisy with all the truck traffic coming off the ramp. Very convientely located to Wal Mart and the Outlets which are great if you like to shop.
