Have visited the Overleaf many times and are always amazed at the views from the rooms. We have always stayed in the Inglenook rooms and must admit the new section that has updated furnishings is more comfortable but the scenic views from the old section with dated furnishings are amazing. You have to decide what is more important.
The continental breakfast is the best I have ever had and I look forward to it each morning. The rooms could use a good "spring cleaning" to freshen them up but overall we love the Overleaf.

we drove down on a sunday from lake oswego, oregon. it was a long drive for a short trip (close to 3 hours)...but the hotel is in an amazing setting. the room (we had a restless waters room) is giant...but the furnishings are outdated. the whirlpool tub and view from our room were both awesome.
the morning complimentary breakfast is huge and delicious (hot cereal, french toast, cinnamon rolls, fruits, breads, etc.).
they have coupons on-line for 20% off their sunday-thursday rate...which you should definitely take advantage of.
yachats is a very small town with very little to do...but it was a nice place to go to relax/get away from it all.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2009

We stayed in April when most of the guests were other seniors. The experience at the busy high season would most likely be different. We thought it lovely, nice finishes, well thought out, comfortable, luxurious amenities, huge bed, clean, set in ample private grounds. We were entirely satisfied. Well above the Best Western category and at c. $140, value for money, if you consider the spa and full breakfast of eggs, fresh fruit, juices, dairy, English muffins, cereals was fresh and ample. We stayed on the top floor towards the end which provided maximum privacy and view. For another $100 we could have gained a corner room with more windows, a broader view, and a whirlpool. But since the spa was on our floor, and our room came with a fireplace the added view was the only worthwhile addition. The spa was delightful, a c. 16’ hot tub overlooking the ocean, steam cabinet, sauna, robes, thick towels, and we were the only clients. Delightful. The staff was most accommodating. The desk clerk advised on a restaurant, phoned to determine if they did carry out, and placed a second call with our order. If it weren’t so far from Seattle we would visit annually, off-season.

Hot tub. Fireplace. Huge room. View of the surf pounding. Great walks along the shore.

My wife absolutely loved this place.

The reviews are right.

We stayed here one night on a trip up the Pacific coast. The pictures on the website made the hotel seem very upscale. Actually, it was not any better than a Best Western. The hotel is quite adequate but nothing special. We did not use the spa and maybe this makes the hotel worthwhile, but it certainly was not the room. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this hotel, but nor is there anything special. If you decide to stay here just curb your expectations a bit.

Having said this, the setting is stunning, overlooking the wild Oregon coast and there is a lovely walking path that runs right next to the ocean.

It does not have its' own restaurant and the nearby restaurant recommended by the staff was quite mediocre.

In summary, if I was to plan another trip up the northern Pacific coast, in Oregon I would look for a hotel with a bit more to offer.

We spent two wonderful nights here! The water and sunset views from the room are amazing. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations.

We stayed at the Overleaf in November to celebrate our anniversary. We had never stayed in Yachats before, as we usually went to Newport or Cannon Beach. What an unexpected surprise! The Overleaf was great -- from the lobby to the room, to the breakfast, but especially the spa, and the location. If you do not go to the spa when staying at the Overleaf, you're missing out! We did not purchase any services, but just used the spa for the pools, steam, products, and showers. It was devine! The windows that look out from the pools to the ocean create such a peaceful mood. The rain showers, pebble tiles, and quality products make taking a shower feel so luxurious. The location of the Overleaf is perfect! It is right on the ocean with a walking/running trail between the property and the ocean. It was about a mile into town on the trail where you could eat a quality local meal, taste wine, or just window shop. I would highly recommend the Overleaf to anyone. I'm ready to go back again today! Did I mention it was a good value too?
