“Fall visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Overleaf Lodge while traveling to a conference in San Francisco. Our visit was much too brief. The Lodge and grounds were beautiful. The staff were warm, friendly and very helpful. The only question we have is how quickly we can scehdule a return visit. The next time it will be for a longer period of time so that we can enjoy all of the amenities.

Room Tip: Ocean view is a must.

We spent four nights at the lodge last weekend for our Goddaughter's wedding. The facility is amazing. The rooms have everything you can imagine-best coffee I have ever had (and I'm from Seattle!) it's their special house blend. They have microwave, sink, even dishwasher soap and kitchen towels for the area. The rooms were amazing-all of them-can't imagine there is a room better than another. Beautiful view of the ocean. The Pacific Suite had two bedrooms and living room which is where we all met each night. The free breakfast is in the lovely lobby which has a wood burning fireplace is terrific. Sweet rolls, egg dish, English muffins, huge bowls of fresh cut fruit, 6 different kinds of juices...on and on. Yum! I had a spa treatment-a massage with Sean-another wonderful experience. The spa has a lovely hot tub overlooking the ocean, sauna and steam room. All can be used by any guest, you don't have to be a spa customer, but you should take advantage-as good as any spa anywhere. They also have beautiful homes on the property for vacation rentals-would be good for a family. I know I'm going on and on, but it's just that good.

Also within walking distance is Outtagas Pizza-wonderful place in old gas station. Robin and Dave are great hosts. For some top level seafood-crab cakes, fresh fish, go to ONA in town of Yachats. Not expensive, just beautifully prepared fresh food and wine-great Bloody Marys too!

Room Tip: They have different types of room depending if you want to eat a little in your room or not. All ha...

This is our go to place to stay on the coast. With spectacular views, a wonderful walking trail, scrumptious brunch, and excellent service, the Overleaf is highly recommended by our family and friends. A welcoming atmosphere and clean, inviting rooms makes this a good choice.

They do just about everything right at the Overleaf Lodge. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, the view can't be beat, the location is great (both rocky and sandy beaches close at hand), the breakfast is very good (my kids beg to go there just for the breakfast!), the hot tubs in the spa are wonderful, and the staff are as welcoming as can be. We have stayed there three times so far and anticipate many more visits.

Room Tip: All rooms have a great view.

Beautiful location with the rocks and the crashing surf of the pacific in your backyard. Stayed in the grand pacific suite which was marvelous and very comfortable accommodations for 2 couples. Beautiful balcony with a straight shot of a fantastic sunset. Great service and very friendly people but it is location, location, location.

Thank you for reviewing your stay in the Grand Pacific Suite. We are so pleased to know how much you enjoyed yourselves. The Grand Pacific Suite is a fine choice for two couples to share. It features two separate bedrooms, each with their own deluxe bathrooms. The suite has an extra large balcony, accessible from both bedrooms and the living room, which is perfect for viewing those fabulous sunsets. It also has a cozy living room with a gas fireplace and a full kitchen and dining area. We hope to see you again if your future travel plans include another trip to the west coast.

This was our second stay at the Overleaf and we were here for 3 nights in September. We booked a Cook's Galley room which provided us with a small kitchenette including a microwave, hob, fridge and dishwasher, as well as crockery & saucepans. Given that the Overleaf has no restaurant this enabled us to cook a simple dinner on a particularly inclement evening and the hotel has a small pantry selling meals for this purpose. Our room was on the ground floor with a patio area outside and it was very spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view of the ocean. The Overleaf is situated right on the oceanfront and all the rooms have this view.
We were pleased to find that the complementary breakfast had improved considerably from our last visit a few years ago. Then it made us head straight out to a restaurant, this time we were very pleased with the variety and quality.
This isn't a particularly cheap hotel but the location and facilities make it good value for money. Use of the hot tub in the Spa on the third floor is included in the room rate and it was lovely to relax in the Jacuzzi and look at the sea. The spa treatments are very expensive and a few special offers or reduced rates might make them more tempting to guests.
Yachats itself is lovely with some great places to eat, and it makes a good base to explore the coast. There are also some good walking trails to follow.
We would be very happy to stay at the Overleaf again!

Room Tip: Recommend the Cook's Galley for the kitchenette even if you don't want to cook a meal.

Dramatic view of the ocean with waves crashing against the rocks. With the porch sliding door open, the wave action was quite loud, but the room was remarkably quiet with the door closed. Room was very comfortable and pretty. Enjoyed the fireplace and sitting on the porch watching high tide. There is a great path behind the lodge where you can walk to town (only about a mile). Nice breakfast. Enjoyed dinner at little seafood place recommended by the front desk (Luna Sea Fish House).
