I've been staying at the Overleaf for years, both Lodge and house rentals. The fact that I return again and again is an endorsement in itself. With two girlfriends we rented the Umpqua "cottage", a lovely 3 bedroom house that was so warm, and welcoming, and cozy, you couldn't ask for a better place to stay on the Oregon coast. There are 3 bedrooms, one master with private bath on the first floor, and 2 bedrooms and bath on the second floor. One bedroom has a King bed and an anteroom with a trundle bed behind a curtained area and the second bedroom has two twins. We asked the staff to put the two twins together to create a King which they gladly agreed to but the head and footboard created about a 3-4 inch gap in the middle and did not work out well.
The kitchen and dining area are lovely with personal touches and are beautifully decorated with pottery/ceramic. The kitchen is very well equipped; we had all we needed to make meals, plenty of silverware, dishes, pots, pans, knives, coffeemaker, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher (full kitchen) and everything very clean and well kept. The living room was comfortable and had a gas fireplace. There's a wood fireplace on the patio to the side of the house but it was too chilly to sit outside in chairs (even with a lit fire) so I don't know how well the outside fireplace works.
Beds were average but all in all it was really a perfect weekend for three girlfriends at a lovely house. I recommend this place highly. (I do encourage the capability to put the twin beds together in a more comfortable fashion to create a King if all adults are renting.) Thanks to the owners who are so gracious in sharing their lovely place. It was an awesome weekend.
Whether you stay at the Lodge or in one of the house rentals, the area along the magnificent 804 trail and the rocky coastline is my personal ultimate decompression from the rush and craziness of everyday life.
There is no restaurant or pool but there is a lovely spa. The breakfast if you stay at the Lodge is...

Thank you so much for your years of patronage; you are part of our wonderful Overleaf family now. I agree with you, our area is the perfect place to relax and absorb all of our natural beauty. I’m glad you have been able to stay at both the Overleaf Lodge and the Overleaf Village cottages. The cottages are especially nice for family gatherings or girlfriend getaways such as yours. The cottages sleep from 6 to 12, and as you so generously described in your review, they are fully equipped for all of your needs. While every room at the lodge has an ocean view, four of the cottages have views/partial views of the ocean and they are all in a beautiful, natural setting adjacent to the lodge. I will certainly pass along not only your compliments, but your suggestions, too. Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review.
