This is a great choice if you enjoy traveling a bit outside the ordinary. That is why we chose it. We wanted something different.

It is hard to find, so make sure that you print out the directions, a GPS system won't help and they are only in the office for about two hours a day. Everyone we met at the Inn had gotten lost trying to find the place. And no you don't have to climb up the hill to get there.

It is a very nice place to rest your head. They have books and games there and it is very quiet.

There is no ghost! It was something some college kids made up. So, don't get your hopes up!

Like others I could have done without the 7 course breakfast. It was good, but nothing to write home about. It was kinda like a normal breakfast, but instead of having your toast with the eggs and bacon, you had your toast - one course, your eggs- the second course, the bacon - third course.

They did have everyone introduce themselves which is great for getting the conversation started since you are there for two hours. I suggest staying to hear the story about the house after breakfast.

The view is lovely. The place is unique. It is a very quaint b&b!

“Heceta Head Lighthouse B&B”

Heceta Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast

Okay, so we stayed two days at the Heceta Head Lighthouse B&B. My honest opinion -- The lighthouse is obviously the reason I decided to stay at the B&B. If you are a lighthouse buff like me, then you WANT to reserve the Lightkeepers Room. We slept with the window open and watched the beautiful lighthouse beacon at night. You can hear the waves slam against the rocks like rolling thunder echoing. Although there is a spectacular seven-course breakfast, be prepared to sit for two hours. I have to admit, I didn't care to sit through a two-hour breakfast. Don't get me wrong, it was a great set-up with lots of interesting conversations and an excellent, delicious meal; but a two-hour breakfast is way too long for me. I kept thinking I would rather be outdoors spending my time near the lighthouse and taking in the beautiful morning. If you do stay there, you must go to the lighthouse at night, sit directly underneath it and look up. It's very beautiful and magical. I definitely recommend the B&B. warmlittlediamond.

My family stayed here for two nights in August 2007 and absolutely loved it! We occupied both Mariners Rooms #1&2 because they are the only bedrooms in the house that connect AND have their own bathrooms. I'll echo many of the good things that have already been said about this property and sum it up in two words: It's fantastic. Walking through the house is light getting a history lesson. There are also a few interesting ghost stories to research. The Keepers house is a place to relax and unwind. We had glorious weather when we were there and considered ourselves really lucky. The sunsets were incredible....the sounds of the waves crashing below were quite calming. And there is absolutely NOTHING like standing underneath the lighthouse itself at night....everything pitch black around you with the exception of the powerful light beaming out in an octagonal pattern. It's an unbelievable light show to experience and almost defies description. The Innkeepers are wonderful people who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The breakfasts are seven course gourmet. Plan for them to take two full hours and to enjoy every minute! A short (BUT STEEP) hike takes you down to the rocks and surf below and an easy path takes you to a beautiful beach. Warning: this location is smack dab between two small coastal towns that have the only restaurants around. I would strongly advise you to consider getting food at one of the nice spots in Yachats. We got take-out food for dinner and brought it back to the Lighthouse. It was a bit cool and windy as the sun went down but an unforgetable meal. I had read about the Heceta Lighthouse B&B for years and had always wanted to come here. We're grateful we finally had the opportunity. Five Stars!

What can I possibly say about the Heceta Lighthouse B & B that hasn't already been said? The setting is spectacular, the quarters are comfortable, and the seven course breakfast was memorable. I would imagine that the setting would be spectacular in any kind of weather but we were blessed with blue skys and calm winds making it all the more memorable. One of the things not to be missed is a hike up to the lighthouse at night. Watching from the base of the lighthouse as the light flashed along the coast line and beamed 21 miles out to sea in the dark, was unforgettable. If you plan to stay here keep in mind that the closest places to eat dinner are in Florence 12 miles to the south or Yachats 14 miles to the north. Don't let that stop you from staying at this wonderful B & B, but plan accordingly.

We spent two nights here and enjoyed our stay hugely.

The secluded B&B, the former lightkeepers' cottage, is situated beautifully on the clifftop, a short walk down from the lighthouse itself. The view of the ocean from the wooden porch is spectacular and a short path takes you down through the trees to a quiet beach.

The house itself, built in 1894, is impressive and well maintained. There are comfortable living rooms downstairs with antique furniture and old photos of the area, available for use by guests. There are also two permanent residents, the two lighthouse cats.

We stayed in the cozy 'lightkeepers room' which had a great view of the light. Other rooms have views of the ocean. All have private bathrooms though the lightkeepers room's was across the hall. Each room also has a torch included for the highly recommended night walk up to the lighthouse.

The lightstation is highly regarded for its 7-course breakfast and we found it excellent. Courses range from fresh fruit to eggs to banana bread to bagels with salmon and cream cheese. Produce is fresh and local. However, the whole meal takes an hour and a half so don't plan for an early departure!
