“Extreme Rudeness and lack of attention to customers”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Winchester Bay Inn is an older Hotel. You can overlook the dated rooms because it sits right on the harbor and allows you to walk to various destinations. Their problem is in booking a room. They are rude, don't care if you book or not and will not consider any kind of discounting for any reason. When I made a gasping sound at the room rate, I was told very harshly to go check out the Best Western in Reedsport, then call back!!! Click, I did not have a change to say, I was only asking!!!!! It is too bad it is not run by people who care and who actually encourage longer stays there. We were looking at a week stay there. Actually found a cute cottage, nearby with same view and walking space for less money.

Room Tip: Go to their website at Winchester Bay Inn to see pictures.

The new owner was such a delight to visit with, talked for over an hour. Very knowledgeable about her country in Europe and how she and her family worked her way up in this country. We had unit #30 just a basic room with microwave, frig.king bed clean bathroom. Nothing fancy, old furniture. Quiet and view of bay. Close to the dunes, lighthouse, bay, restaurants. Lots of parking if your pulling a boat or trailer with your toys.
Perfect for those that don't want fancy.
I would recommend that they wash their towels better. I used my own.
The breakfast was basic, just like the inn.

Room Tip: top units have better view of bay.

This is by far the best motel we have stayed in. Excellent view. Right next to the ocean. Lots of space for our children can play. A variety of room selection. We stayed in a kitchen unit. pet friendly. Free breakfast in the morning. Very affordable, and we will be referring Winchester Bay Inn to all my friends and family.

We have definitely found our new place to stay when visiting relatives in Reedsport. The Winchester Bay Inn is only 2 - 4 minutes south from Reedsport so its very convenient for visiting family. We found our room bright, airy & fresh when we arrived. There was a lovely king sized bed that was very comfortable compared to other hotels we've stayed at in the area. We made reservations ahead of time & were delighted to find out the Inn is pet friendly, something very important to us. We did not experience any of the problems spoken of in some of the other reviews we read of. The view of the harbor was beautiful and we took lots of pictures. There were some early morning risers but that's to be expected at any hotel, it wasn't overly loud or at an extreme hour & we were already awake anyway being early risers ourselves.
We stayed in room #9 which was simply gorgeous and understand that there are a variety of other room types available including co-joining rooms. We will definitely be back on our next visit. Perhaps we'll reserve a suite with a kitchen next time. They also have a penthouse that looks like it has views that go on forever.
The Winchester Bay Inn is a hidden gem & are we glad we found it! We enjoyed every minute of our 2 day stay.

This is a nice spot to stop. You can go crabbing right at the docks. The harbor is like 2 blocks away. You can see them from the room we were in.Room was clean. Carpet was a little damp from shampooing but dried fast when we turned on the heater. Very comfortable. I found my new must stay spot.Oh you never even have to drive anyplace. Restaurants galore with in walking distance.Pet friendly.

Room Tip: Room # 9 Jacuzzi tub with plenty of hot water to fill it.

My room was very clean. I was offerd a varity of very well priced rooms. I had a great view of the bay. And it was walking distance to resturants and a few minute drive to crabbing deck. We had a room with a kitchen with pots amd pans to cook are catch! Had a feeling breakfast of danishes, donuts, oatmeal, and english muffins : ) they also have a selection of jucies and teas which was nice since I dont drink coffee. What was all free in the lobby. I will be back for sure!

6/16/2012 Called before hand made reservations and was told the price would be including tax, once arrived the lady at the desk tryed to jack the price up ,but when said what was told she agreed but then asked if we wanted to see the room,we said why she said I don't want anybody to be not happy, we paid went to the room ,once we open the door it stunk and on the first bed comforter in the middle was blood, we went back to the front desk and said no we want a refund no way we are staying there was blood on the comforter ,the lady at the desk said was it thru to the sheets, like we was even going to touch it blood born pathogens along with gross, she said she would refund it to the card , Also they claim there is a view of the bay no there isn't its of a junk yard. Not happy this was a horrible place and would not ever recommend it to anybody, they new management and a remodel and new everything with us to inspect it to tell the truth it is gross

Room Tip: Go to another hotel not this one at all
