Mom and I dined here early on a Sunday evening as a special treat near the end of my visit to Oregon. I had read fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor, and had high hopes for a nice meal. We both started with the house green salad with fresh beets and blue cheese dressing. It was fresh and crisp. I ordered shrimp-stuffed salmon and mom ordered the short ribs. My meal was first rate, served with wild rice and grilled asparagus. Mom loved the sauce, loved the carrots and garlic mashies, but was having trouble getting a knife through the ribs. Our server was attentive and eager to remedy, as was the manager, Cheryl. Every now and then, a cut of meat (especially ribs) can be a bit too gristly, and this happened to be that off cut. Cheryl offered to upgrade mom to a steak at the same price, but left the rest of the meal so that she could continue to enjoy the sides while the next meat was cooked to her order. When it came out of the kitchen, Cheryl and our server joined us at the table for a few bites, to make sure that it was prepared perfectly. There was a cheerfulness and genuine concern for quality that made for a great experience. I believe the best measure of any business' customer service is how they handle a problem. By that standard, this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. We might remember the meal (including the yummy pumpkin cheesecake for dessert), but we'll definitely remember the fine calibre of service. Next trip to Oregon, this will be at the top of the list.
