“Fall Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

Been 8 years since I have been here. Nicely updated rooms that are very large, king bed, chair, couch, and fireplace. Rooms are a little dark due to lenghth and number of trees around. Good facilities, we had a conference that used their facility. I went to the gym in the dark, suggest you try it in the light first, not well lit and entrance on back of spa. Fall is a great time to go, between their busy season of summer and winter.

The rooms were large, well furnished, and very comfortable. The grounds were extensive and well landscaped with full resort facilities, pool, tennis, golf etc. Dining room was good and breakfast by the golf course was excellent. All at a very fair price. Good views of mount hood

Room Tip: Corner rooms are larger and have fire places

The spa is beautiful - and the location is, too! I have had 2 massages and one facial at the spa at The Resort at the Mountain. It was wonderful. Very zen and relaxing. The staff was wonderful. I will be back!

The rooms are very modern and the furnishings are lovely, neutral earth tones. The chenille throws were a personal favorite of mine, even though I typically don't use anything in a hotel I don't have to (cooties). The shower in the bathroom was interesting - little over half a plate of stationary glass, no door...make sure you like who you're sharing the room with if you plan to share the bathroom at the same time! The stone tile was nice, the amenities smelled good and worked great - the exfoliation bar was creamy and hydrating. They serve Starbucks coffee all throughout, so keep that in mind if you're a fan or not.
We visited The Altitudes bar both nights to take advantage of the Happy Hour food vs. the restaurant meals - great selection. Marty the bartender was SPECTACULAR! Just the right amount of conversation, perfectly hospitable, honoring of HH times even if he couldn't quite get to us before time ran out...I couldn't think of anything to make it better. Breakfast in Mallards was pretty good, though Saturday was better than Sunday for some reason. I enjoyed building my own omelet with healthy options. Also, as a heads up, the Wildwood omelet is too oily to be appetizing, for me, and the hashbrowns tasted very buttery.
Fitness Center is great - they have hydraulic machines vs. the usual weights. Different, but worked great.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time here. We were down to the very last minute trying to find a place that was affordable and not too far, and he stumbled upon a Groupon for the Resort at the Mountain. I was not expecting to find a place that looked so nice on such short notice, but they had 1 room left so we felt incredibly blessed. Probably wouldn't have found this place otherwise, and we're already planning to go back!

This is a very, very nice resort. We had a two night family getaway which included my one year old grandson. It was extremely comfortable. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
I was a little jealous of the golfers (I no longer play) as the course looked spectacular. If you are a golfer, the scenery will take your mind off your game, bad or good.
I liked that it was close to Portland and also close to Mt. Hood, just so we could get a close look.
The food at both restaurants on the property was excellent although a little pricey.
PS - look for a Groupon Coupon or something similar. We saved a lot of $$ doing that!

My mom, sister and I went to visit my brother and his family in Oregon. We only stayed one night at the resort. I should have done more homework as this resort is not at the mountain but kinda close to the mountain. The said they have free bikes for the guest. They have around 2 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes. We were a group of 8 -- not enough bikes for the family so we couldn't make use of the bikes. The miniature golf was lots of fun, plenty of putters! The pool was very cold (in mid November) and the pool towels are way too tiny -- something I would expect at a Motel 8 not a 'resort.' The restaurant service and food were great. I would probably check out a different 'resort' next time.

This is a lovely resort. Low lying (two stories, no elevator) buildings - each room has a private patio or balcony and except for building 2 a pool or garden view. We had the larger of the rooms available and it was enormous - two of us couldn't fill the space and there is plenty of room for a family and their belongings even with ski equipment. Everything has been renovated in the past five years and everything was spotless (huge bathroom too). There is a small refrigerator and grocery nearby so you can store snacks or lunch makings. The glass screened fireplace was the finishing touch. The hot tub was a blessing after a day of hiking. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. Both the resturant and the cafe offer a decent menu at what we thought were reasonable prices - room service and to go also available for the same price. WE don't golf so can't comment but it loooked great. This is an active, outdoor vacation spot - hiking, biking, golf, skiing.

Room Tip: If you are not from the Northwest - the key to dressing is layer, layer, layer - temperatures vary w...
