“Luxury at a reasonable price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2011

Our stay at The Resort at the Mountain included a room with single king bed, a visit to the outdoor pool and hot tub and dinner in the main dining area. All exceeded our expectations. The resort has apparently been recently upgraded with new, sleek decor, emphasis on service and nice amenities that surprise.
We'd go back. Nice place to stop after a day of skiing on Mount Hood. Especially the hot tub.

Coming into the suite i felt very cozy and was excited to look out onto our own private patio . The staff service was always friendly and very helpful . I liked the location because we could choose to go into town or stay near the Mountain. The room service was an awesome hit with me because after a long day or early morning it was nice to have treats delivered. The Spa had lots to choose from and it was nice to enjoy a steam room in privacy . The weather was perfect!

Room Tip: ask for suite with patio

We love staying at unique places that offer all-inclusive packages and are not too far away from our hometown of Spokane. This resort offered a variety of packages with only a short drive to Timberline. Our first night we arrived we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff who checked us in effortlessly. Our All-Inclusive Package included a two queen bed room, 2 dinner entrees, 2 breakfast entrees and 2 spa treatments for under $300. The room was lovely, unfortunately we found pants & underwear left in the main closet upon arrival. The staff quickly righted the situation even offering to move us to another room though we declined. My husband and teenage daughter went up to Timberline (about a 30 min drive though the resort does offer a shuttle on weekends) to ski and snowboard and had the time of their lives. Their two lifts tickets were included in the price of the second night package, Calling All Powder Hounds, which included all the before mentioned items at a price of under $350. I stayed behind to enjoy an AWESOME facial at the spa administered by Christine. Their is nothing like a great day of skiing/snowboarding followed by a relaxing massage. We will definitely be back but will book 3 nights instead of 2!

I am so glad we stayed at The Resort on the Mountain. There are a bunch of ski/snowboarding areas nearby (we went to Meadows-about 40min. and Snowbowl-about 15min.) Many of the other hotels/motels in the area look really rustic, but the Resort on the Mountain was of the same quality I would expect of resorts around the world. We had a room with a fireplace, which was a treat after a day on the mountain. The only downside is that there are no elevators, so if you have a lot of luggage, you may need to carry it upstairs.(There are only 2 floors, so it'a not too bad.

They not only tolerate dogs, but welcome them! Upon check-in we received a doggie bag with several treats, and poo-bags to use for the fenced-in grassy area that is accessible from the sliding glass doors of each Croft room. The front desk staff was wonderfully friendly and helpful, and gave a great dinner recommendation for us.
We will definitely stay here again when planning more than a day-trip to the Mt. Hood area. Especially if one of the special prices is available again!
