“Luminous skies and uncrowded beaches at your doorstep”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2009

Unimpeded views of ocean horizons, access to miles of uncrowded beaches, murmuring waves lulling one to sleep -- all these features don't do justice to the restorative experience of staying at the Cliff House B&B in Waldport. Did we mention the bountiful, gourmet breakfasts prepared by chef and innkeeper Sharon Rogers in her kitchen and served on antique china in the dining room overlooking her garden above the sea? Or the coffee service that arrives punctually at one's bedroom door each morning?
Every room is thoughtfully furnished with all the amenities of home. Our favorite is the Suite, with its cedar-panelled ceiling, antique four-poster bed, full-size jet spa, and grand balcony overlooking expanses of beach and river. What could be more enjoyable than sitting on the balcony at sunset, wineglass in hand, watching for whales and enjoying all the luminous colors of sea and sky. If there is a down side to the Cliff House, it is the feeling of having to leave too soon.

A friend and I stayed in separate rooms for 2 nights. This house overlooks the river and ocean and it is warm and charming and very clean. Both mornings the breakfast was out of this world. Fresh flowers were in our bedrooms. TV, wifi, and even a warm fire in each room was ready to light.

The Cliff House was our first experience of a bed and breakfast, and let me tell you what a great one it was! We have already decided to make it out "twice a year" spot. From the room to the view to the amazing hospitality, our stay at the Cliff House was unforgettable!

We stayed at the Cliff House for a couple of days last month and had a great time. The Alsea room had a private entrance, was cozy, and had wonderful views of the Alsea river merging into the Pacific. You can pretty much sit in your room and just stare out the glass window panel across the room. There is an access path to the beach close to the B&B. The breakfast is not to be missed. It is almost a full meal with fruits, scones, muffins, and the gourmet dish that Sharon makes. Yum!!! She was also kind enough to handout ziplock bags to pack the remaining food to snack on while enjoying the scenic Oregon Coast. Will definitely go back.

We have stayed at many B &B's and The Cliff House is our favorite! This trip we stayed at three B&B's along the Oregon Coast and the only one we will return to is The Cliff House in Waldport, Oregon. The view is the best on the coast! Sharon and Glen made us feel like family. The room was comfortable and had a deck with a full ocean view and a quant parlor stove. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day on the motorcycles. Coffee was delivered to the door before breakfast...and the breakfast were all wonderful. Sharon is a great cook with home made scones, muffins, fresh squeezed O.J. and each breakfast better than the one before. There is an ocean view from the dining room, and a fire going in the Great Room, and the conversation was always lively bewteen guest. There is a beach that goes for miles and a view of the Waldport bridge. Dining is up or down the road for 8 to 15 minutes, but there are many wonderful choices. We have returned over the years and are always pleased.

Everything at this bed and breakfast was wonderful. The view of the ocean is unbelievable. It is right there! I could sit on the little love seat in my room ,which is pulled up to the windows that line both outside walls ,forever. There is a nice deck too but it was cold and windy during our stay. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were great and we enjoyed having a scone or muffin to take along for the day. Sharon gave us great ideas for hiking and tide pools and also restaurants for dinner. We even had some good political discussions! Waldport is a very, very small place so we drove about 20 minutes to the next town for dinner. We really enjoyed our stay. It is a great spot to stay while exploring the coast.

We just spent a wonderful two days at the Cliff House in the Alsea room - what a fabulous view!! We felt as if we were in our own secluded boat, enjoying a full view of the ocean. We watched the seals from our window, and it was hard to pull ourselves away to go out to other sightseeing. Plus, Sharon & Glen were totally hospitable, and Sharon served wonderful breakfasts - fresh fruit, juice, scones, muffins, and smoked salmon quiche one day and cheese blintzes with fresh berry sauce the next. She even provided us with bags to take along extras of the bakery goodies, which we enjoyed as we spent the afternoon taking in the beautiful Oregon Coast. We would definitely stay at Cliff House again.
