“Great place to get a good breakfast or lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

We stopped here for breakfast since we didn't care for our hotel's free breakfast. I had the baked peach oatmeal and it was delicious. Just what I was looking for! The staff was friendly and helpful, too. They have a lot of selection for breakfast & lunch, plus specialty coffees and tea.
The store had a lot of souvenirs as well, if that's the kind of thing you're interested in.

“Great Lunch & Shopping all in One Stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is by far the best place to meet my Sister for lunch and shopping. This General Store has so many things to look at and the prices are reasonable. We both were tempted by so many items, just not enough room in the car!! The lunch menu is yummy. We both had the pulled pork sandwich this time. It is tender and tasty. We loved reading all the signs for sale with quotes for everyday living. It is just a fun place to spend time and enjoy good food. We sat upstairs to eat, theres more shopping up there. Also, there is seating on an upper deck outside. The people working here are very nice and friendly.

“Troutdale General Store, Troutdale, Oregon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

The Troutdale General Store is such a charming place. You feel like you've stepped back into the 1950's once inside the front door. There is an old-fashioned wooden dining counter with wooden stools. There is seating in the front, inside section of the store, on the second level, and a few tables out front. Breakfast and lunch is served. A nice variety of food with daily specials and fresh baked goods. All very reasonably priced. The owner (Terry) and his staff are extremely cordial. It's a fun, relaxing place. They also have a store full of gift items, candy, Christmas decorations, etc. Shouldn't miss this place if you're ever in Troutdale.

“Great bakery and ice cream”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Finally, a decent piece of pie! And licorice ice cream. Didn't have a meal, but enjoyed stopping in for dessert.

“This is so much more than a restaurant or general store. Gateway to the Gorge.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

We went to take my family to this wonderful store/restaurant/retro store again last week. Three floors of fun and dining at old fashioned tables. Sodas of your youth to drink and a soda fountain. Desserts galore.

As I go there often, I am reminded that it is a fabulous place to eat a breakfast have a cuppa and browse the 40s, 50s, and 60s candies and memorabilia. There are chicken/rooster things, cat things, barn things, and almost anything you remember with fondness from long ago.

Candy like Abba Zabba or Big Hunk to remember and eat. Halloween all year round, and Christmas down in the basement year round too. Stationary and things you don't normally find.

There are tables out front to sit and watch the city of Troutdale go by. Relax and read your paper. This is a hometown place with historic significance.

I saw that they have been awarded one of the top "Resort specialties" store in a Nationwide contest along with Disney and a few big names. Congratulations to the owners. I am not surprised.

Fun place to start your visit to the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Parking out front is free.
