I confess to having eaten here many times. I keep waiting for a bad plate, but with the single exception of a piece of tough veal, it has always been a wonderful, deliciuous experience.
I am addicted to Seafood Portofino, Hazlenut-Crusted Halibut in a cream sauce, Spaghetti Fruita de Mare, and any of Saul Pompello's superb cream soups. Each of these dishes has fine ingredients, good balance, and excellent flavors. Unfortunately, I don't get around to the other dishes that often because these are so good. Anyway, the bruschetta is on the table before you get more than a glance around, the water arrives, and you start with the delightful menu and wine list.
My only complaint is that you will be served your salad or soup, and before you can finish it, the entree is on the table. Timing is not their strong suit. It's petty to complain about service that's too fast, but it is midly annoying. The staff is cheerful, Saul is omnipresent, the prices are simply ridicously low for many of the top-line dishes, and the portions are generous. Go there, and be satisfied.
