We love, love, love, love the Blue Heron Cheese & Wine Company.
We visited three times during our visit. The first day, we did the wine tasting. The staff member was very knowledgable about the wine (he had previously been an international distributor) and we had a great time chatting with him. He taught us a lot. I accidently bumped into a display and broke a bottle. He was very concerned about my safety and less about the bottle of wine which really touched me.
On the second day, we got lunch at the Blue Heron. The lunch wasn't fancy but it sure was tasty. I had a grilled cheese that used a lot of local cheese (I think four?) and my husband had a turkey melt. We also had a cheese platter.
On the third day, we picked up some goodies to take home. They have a great selection of food items - lots of dips, cheese, wines, plus all kinds of accessories. It is a great place to buy gifts.
Our favorite part of the trip was getting to feed the animals. You can purchase feed at the counter for $1.00. Unfortunately, the sheep and goats are at the fairgrounds due to the weather. However, there were still lots of animals to feed. We fell in love with Elmo the Emu.
