“Love the staff, love the omelets, everything else needs improvements”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

I've stayed at least 12 nights since the beginning of the year. The first problem - it's the only Hilton brand in the area. So, they get the loyal HHonors members by default. If there were any other Hilton Properties in the area, I would not stay here.

There is no excuse for an outdated business center in 2012. Computers and printers are dirt cheap these days. Management - please, please, please invest a little money and update your computers and printers. Business travelers depend on these. Your printer is painfully slow and the computer software you have installed makes me cringe.

The rooms are very clean, just like all Hilton properties, but with outdated decor. Breakfast is great and I enjoy chatting with the breakfast cooks while they make the omelets. They are super nice!

The food at the manager reception is mediocre at best. I've seen better at Hampton Inn manager receptions. The food at the restaurant isn't worth the money. Go to the Cheesecake Factory or Stockpot Restaurant if you are hungry.

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to elevator, unless you like long walks.

The room was nice enough - typical Embassy Suites layout which worked well for husband and myself as we were traveling with two teen grandkids and the extra TV and privacy was a bonus. On the downside - the pool was small and packed with kids, the managers reception was a joke - stale chips and bottled salsa with a million kids running around. We saw some people eating chicken wings but when we arrived 30 minutes into the 2 hour reception, there was no chicken to be seen. Breakfast was mediocre, saved by the made-to-order omelet which I tipped heavily for. I don't think we will be returning....

NIce. 2 full rooms. 2 large tv's. Great for us because the kids get 1 whole room, and we get the master suite. The price was nice too! Free happy hour 530 to 730pm with beer, wines, and a mix drink. Lot's of free sodas and light snacks. Breakfast is to die for. Chefs, hot buffet, very large omelet area, tons of regular breakfast stuff. The breakfast stayed open til 1030 am the weekend we were there!

Room Tip: The closer to the elevator, the closer to your room as everyone takes the elevator

Been staying here for years and think it's time for a remodel. Debated giving this a 3 rating, but of the location and employee friendliness bumped it to a 4.

Probably one of the last Hilton properties that doesn't have HDTV in the rooms (hello it's 2012), this property also has one of the slowest WiFi and it only gets worse in the rooms not in the core atrium area,

With the exception of the made to order omelette, the breakfast is far overrated. If you need to be near the mall, this is a great hotel, but if you are there for business, there are better options.

My wife and I enjoyed a very nice wintertime weekend here. We're not skiers or snomobilers, (or particularly young), so, in this part of the country, spending some time at a nice mall, restaurant, sleeping in, and soaking in a great big beautiful hot tub can really be a couple nice winter days.

The property is very nice and well kept, the beds and linens are always excellent, and the personnel are pleasant and helpful. They will bring you in their own "bus" to the mall or a couple of nearby nice restaurants, and you won't need to wait more than a few minutes for your ride, even if it just left.

It's a great place with kids or without them. The pool isn't particularly large, but certainly enough so for most groups, and not big enough for little ones to get too far away either. If you're wanting some space or quiet, the desk seems to be good at recognizing that, and the place is big enough to be able to have it's areas away from the families with kids or parties. Despite its location near so many very busy streets and highways it's nice and quiet inside and especially in the rooms. By layout, design and construction methods I've found there to be very good noise isolation, and I don't like noise!

The breakfast buffet is very good, and "free", and there's a Denny's right across the street, as well as a variety of other restaurants in the immediate vacinity. As "Travilinmom" put it so well "There were more stores & restaurants within 5 min. than you could visit in 2 weeks!"

Obviously I'm writing this as a recreational traveller or tourist. This is not located near any of the Portland area's beautiful nature areas or particular "tourist attractions", unless Washington Mall qualifies. Looking out one of the upper floor windows really gives one a clear view of the urban / suburban sprawl of Portland's west side. There is also a very substantial facility for conferences and business uses, but I have no personal experience with those.

Room Tip: Take your time and chat with the people at the desk when they're available! Higher floors get a...

We stayed here on a road trip to BC, we checked in and had the reception food which was great, the bartender was awesome. We took our kids in the pool, what a great way to let them stretch out after being in the car all day.
THe room was comfortable and clean, the staff were all very friendly.

Room Tip: paid $9 extra for a room with a long hall, helpped keep the room quite.

This was a fabulous place to stay. It was near everything we wanted to go to. The only problem seemed to be getting in and out of the hotel entrance. If you aren't in the correct lane at the right time, you're in trouble. The hotel had very nice rooms, great breakfasts, and a great free cocktail hour at the end of the day. I was very happy to stay here with my daughter. One thing we didn't realize is that we had to pay for our internet.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 7th floor on the corner. We had a great view out of 2 windows.
