The door to Cousin's Country Inn Restaurant moos when you open it, and a friendly waiter or waitress will greet you like you're family: "Hi, cousins!"

My husband, son, and I spent one weekend night at Cousin's recently, and ate at the restaurant three times ... it was delicious every time. I had the best BBQ Chicken Cobb salad I've ever eaten!

The hotel is not fancy, but it is VERY well-maintained, very clean, and has plenty of up-to-date amenities, including free cable and wi-fi. The rooms smell fresh, the towels are better than average, and the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. There's also a small pool and a hot tub, if you want to venture into a swimsuit out in the strong Gorge wind!

Considering the low rates, we were surprised to find so many up-to-date and pleasant features. We will stay here again.

We stayed here in June 2006. I made my reservation based on their web site and it lived up to my expectations.

The inn has 2 2-story wood frame buildings with exterior walkways. We stayed on the ground floor of the first building. We could hear people walking on the 2nd floor walkway, but activity died down early in the night, so we slept well.

The room was good sized, all furnishings were in nice condition and it was very clean. Room included microwave, small refirgerator, hair dryer and iron & board. The sink is outside of the bathroom and had a large (3+ foot) counter. The bathroom had tile floor and tub walls were tiled. Towels were typical size but soft and had lots of fiber. The water pressure in the shower was incredible -- it was almost as strong as the winds in the Gorge! Hot water was abundant.

The complex has some nice touches: a 6-7 foot grass strip between the building and the parking lot, flower plantings, fresh cookies at the check in and free morning paper.

There is no complimentary breakfast, but there is an affiliated restaurant and lounge on the premises.

Room price was about $74 for 2 adults,which was reasonable for the area. Desk staff was friendly and efficient. We will stay here again.
