If you have a dog that you are going to be taking with you on vacation and wish to stay at this motel please, please make sure YOU tell the person making your reservation that you will be bringing an animal with you - there is an outrageous fee - $15.00 Per pet, per day to have a pet on the premises - even if your dog NEVER goes in the room, you are still subject to this fee. The only reason that we were made aware of this was because we took our dogs dishes in to the room and the bin we kept their food in to the room, made up their food dishes and took it out to the truck to feed them. When the dogs were done eating I took the bowls back in and washed them and left them on the bathroom floor with the bin of food. The maid told the manager that there was "evidence" in our room of us having dogs!! The manager called my cell and "accused" me of having my dogs in the room, when I assured her that I did not have them in my room, I only fixed their food in the bathroom she then explained to me that there was a pet fee. She asked me if we would be back by 5 pm to take care of the fee and paperwork? I had no idea if we could be back by then, I assured her that we would try to, but if we could not we would take care of it the next day. But the next morning we were up and gone well before 10 am and did not return till well after 5 pm, we were called again during the day by the manager wanting to discuss the fact that we still had our dog dishes in our room, and that there would indeed be a fee. I was told that if they had known that we had dogs with us, we would have been given a dog room whether we wanted it or not. Whether our dogs were in our room or not. We have traveled a lot with our dogs and have never been treated like this before, normally the motel will ask if we have any pets with us, if we tell them yes they ask us if they will be in our room, when we tell them that they will not they never say anything again, if we would want to keep them in our room their is usually a small refundable deposit that is returned the next day after they inspect the room for any damage. Never have we been subject to this kind of treatment. The business hours of 10 am - 5 pm makes it quite difficult - they offered a continental breakfast BUT not before 10 am ! Most motels that we have stayed in have their breakfasts ready for their guests by 6 am, We were up and out each morning quite early, going to a nearby restaurant for breakfast and off for the day. The 1st thing we noticed was that the size of the TV in the room, it was possibly a 12" TV ! We tried to use the remote to turn on the TV. It did not work, it needed new batteries, after getting new batteries we noticed that the channel changer would not change the channel. When taking a shower I noticed that there was black mold on the shower curtain, other than that the room was nice. I also left the curtains closed while we were gone, for privacy, returning one day we found them open and the heat turned very low.
Also the bright lights right outside the front window was very bright in the room.
We had to leave the motel prior to 10 am and could not wait for the office to open, upon arriving at home checking our bank account noticed that they had charged our debit card a fee for the pets without authorization.
We had a connecting room with our friends - the doors are very heavy and in the way of the bathroom...
