“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Listen, if you're into ambiance (like my wife is) this probably won't be the place for you. BUT, if you want incredibly fresh and unique seafood (razor clams!) as well as fresh crabs, clams, shrimp, et. al., then you owe it to your palate to try this hole in the wall. Super fast service, the ambiance of a bowling alley, but incredible fresh seafood at the BEST prices you'll find anywhere in Newport (or Yachats for that matter).

“Needs a second restroom”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I always wondered why the sign says “Restrooms” but I could find only one. The last time, I made a special effort to find a second one. I then asked at the counter whether there was really only one, and the answer was a big smile and: “Just those.” So the employees talk about the single restroom in the plural because it serves both men and women!

Anytime I have been at the restaurant, there has been a male-and-female line for the restroom. There is no separate sink where a customer could quickly wash his or her hands before or after eating. A lot of customers move through this combination fish market, grocery store, and fast-food restaurant and then need a restroom before getting back onto the highway. It is time for the restaurant to provide a second option.

“Tourist trap”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012 via mobile

Small portions, high prices, unsavory looking place. Not very friendly and cleanliness was only fair. Better places nearby for the prices and atmosphere which besides a few old fishing pictures, is non-estistent.
Keep driving into Newport.

“Excellent Dungeness Crab and Tuna or Halibut and Chips”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

Everytime we are in Newport we have to eat here at least once. My wife enoys their fresh dungeness crab for about $15 and I enjoy either a full Halibut ($13) and Chips or half order ($7). My other choice is Tuna and Chips ($9.50) or half order for ($6.50). Also, if you are looking for Oyster Shooters my wife will not get these anywhere but here. At a $1.50 each you can afford a few at least! We find 2pm-4pm to be the best time to go, especially on the weekends.

“not bad!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

The fish was really good! The fries something I could pick up in the frozen food section. If the fries were better it would be worth the price.
