On our way home to CA from Oregon, we stopped (for the first time) at Mac's Diner. The theme is very much about the 1950s, including half a Chevy Bel Air sticking out of the front of the building. There were lots of car photos, posters of Buddy Holly concerts and reminders of my high school days.
Then we saw the menu. What a treat! There are 20 sandwiches (NOT counting the burgers!) on the menu. I had a "Ricky Ricardo" Cuban sandwich (I'd never heard of a Cuban before) that was delicious! If we had been there for breakfast, I think I would have had the "Diced Ham & All Shook Up Eggs" ("Not to be confused with the dice hanging from your mirror!")
Prices are very reasonable, and the coffee was excellent.
Service was great!
If you get a chance to travel Hwy 62 in SE Oregon, Mac's is a great experience.
