“Great location, right on the river and across from the raft rentals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

The Edgewater Inn is a nice small hotel that is clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was a plus. We stayed in a riverview room and it's definitely worth it. They have a nice continental breakfast and great service. One of the raft rental companies is across the parking lot and your rafting trip ends walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: Riverview rooms offer a nice view of the Rogue.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Edgewater, with the intention to fish the Rogue River with a guide the second morning. My wife had qualms about the place, since it was recommended by one of my fishing buddies who has no problem just sleeping in his truck to be at the right fishing place at the right fishing time . . . She was blown away! The attached picture is the Rogue River view through our sliding glass door the moment we came into the room. The place was clean, quiet, and well-run. Sharon, one of the front desk folks, was a veritable fountain of information about places to see in all of Oregon. The next time we fish the Rogue, we are staying here again.

When reviewing accommodations in this area, please remember this is rural Oregon where most of the small town motels were built in the 1950/60s and look it. This place is modern, clean, and has much better free wifi than I have gotten in 4 star hotels for $10-20/day. While a hour's drive from Crater Lake National Park, you can try to get into the Park Lodge and pay $200-$300 night or get comparable accommodations here for $100/night with a/c. cable TV, free WiFi, telephones and cell phone service - none of which are at the Lodge. If you want a 5 star hotel, you won't find it in this neck of the woods or at the Park.

Room Tip: River views are nice

We stayed here 's route from Crater Lake NP to the coast. Very Nice motel, quiet and clean.Receptionist was friendly and efficiënt. We had dinner accross the river at Miguel 's which was excellent. The next day we rode the Rogue River rapids on à self-guided tour.
The receptionist of the Edgewater Inn would let us use the pool and changing rooms after our exhausting trip, several hours after check out time.Great service !

The Good:
Location, staff, service, convenience, easy to find, superb view, clean, ample parking, river acess, activities nearby, restaraunts nearby.
The Bad:
Poor value, thin towels, worn mattress, lumpy pillows, broken plastic chair on balcony.
We paid $144 w/AAA for a riverview balcony room. For that kind of money I expect better ameneties.
The Bongos:
Most of the hotel guests were woken at 4am to the sound of bongo drums nearby. The noise went on for over an hour. Hotel staff assured us this had never happened before. It's a shame that even in such a lovely little town there are inconsiderate boors!

Room Tip: Walk to Miguel's for dinner!

We stayed at the Edgewater for one night while on holiday in Oregon. We had made our reservation through Expedia and paid approx $114. The same room, on a walk in basis with AAA rate would have cost $144 so make sure you use one of the booking web sites. The room overlooked the parking lot but that was fine for one night. It was clean, comfortable, and the bed was just right. We could have paid more for a room facing the river but it wasn't worth it for just the overnight. The continental breakfast is adequate but nothing special - coffee, tea, juice, cereals, pastries, toast and bagels. Service was good. The facility has free wi fi and a nice (but small) pool and hot tub..
If you are staying here don't miss Miguels Guadalajara restaurant. It's just across the bridge (easy walk - don't bother driving).

Room Tip: Book your room through one of the booking web site to ave $$$

We had a comfortable stay in the Edgewater Inn when we found that the few hotels closer to Crater Lake were full. The laundry and pool were nice. The river walk was a surprise. The rooms were comfortable, quite and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is access to gas and a small grocery store within walking distance.
