We stayed during Xmas weekend, parents, sister, myself, two beagles. We got a very nice pet-friendly room on the 3rd floor facing the river, which is supposed to be better than the mountain view (but we saw a group of seagulls having fun on the mountain side, so "better" is relative : ) Elevator is a short walk from the entrance.
The kitchen almost had everything: A big pot, a small pot, a pan (teflon'ed), spatula, scooper, oven, microwave, large plastic strainer, small plastic mixing bowl. Big plates, small plates, bowls (maybe five each?). Spoons, forks, butter knives, steak knives. (No toaster, no casserole dish.) Dishwasher. I brought some extra kitchen ware just in case, b/c I cooked our Xmas dinner there (after preparing much of it at home). Gas fireplace completed the picture while we ate our meal with the beagles hovering nearby (they got a special Xmas meal, too!).
Condo unit was very clean; I was really happy, because I had some concern with the unit being "pet friendly." Nice all around, and the price was very reasonable, especially with the AARP discount (they also accept AAA, one or the other). Our unit had two bedrooms, 2 baths, with one bath in the master bedroom. My sister and I shared the 2nd bedroom with the queen-sized bed, comfortable. My two fluffy pillows stacked on top of each other were so comfy.
Safeway is in walking distance, maybe 3 blocks. Downtown Seaside is just a block or two away. Beach is 3 blocks-ish, and once there, you can walk on a nice elevated promenade that is parallel to the beach and is bordered by a low stone/concrete wall with arches.
In the general guest area, there was a beautiful large Xmas tree. The person at the front desk gave my dad biscuit treats for our dogs (they are not allowed in the general guest area). She talked heartily with one guest, telling a story about her adopted cat who wandered into the hotel following some guests when it was a kitten.
There's an off-leash fenced area for the dogs at the end of the building to the left of the front entrance. We didn't check it out, but we appreciate that they provide such an area.
It was so great to be able to have the whole family there, dogs and all, at a really nice, clean, affordable suite. We would go here again.
