“Comfortable, great view of the beach and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

This place is great! At the south end of the prom so not a lot of foot traffic in your view, just the beach. Nice big windows, everything needed in the kitchen but the burners were pretty slow. super clean bathroom. We're not dog people, not that we don't like them, just don't have them and appreciate that this is a no dog facility. Very comfortable and a good value. Not fancy, but they did leave some chocolate and coffee for starters. Clean goes a long way. We enjoyed the walk into town, whether on the beach or the prom. That's what we came here for. Definitely a good place to stay.

Room Tip: We prefer second floor rooms to avoid overhead noise, but it was really quiet this time of year.

We stayed here for one night. the price was reasonable, the staff friendly, and our room was clean. We had an ocean view room that overlooked the swimming pool. If we are in the area again we would probably stay here.
Unlike other reviewers, I found the cookware in our suite to be of surprisingly good quality. Although if you run the fan, the microwave and the stove at the same time you may blow a fuse. We did.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay!

Room Tip: Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo was poor quality and conditioner was not provided.

The Tides was in a nice location on the quieter side of the prom and ocean front. It is about a 15 minute walk to the main street in Seaside which is nice because it is not crowded on the beach. The room we stayed in (143) was just ok. It was cute and beachy but needs updating. We bought stuff to make breakfast in our room but the pans weren't big enough and the burner would not get hot. Needless to say, we couldn't really utilize the kitchenette. The dishes weren't very clean either. One major downside is that the oceanfront windows do not open. We could see the beach but couldn't hear it which is what we wanted.

Stayed there this past Labor Day weekend. Rooms were very clean and kept up. It looked as if the rooms had just been painted. The location of this Hotel is right on the beach. You can walk out the door and be on the promenade that takes you into downtown Seaside. The staff was very helpful, as were some of the woners staying there. I BBQ'd two nights and had no trouble sharing the communal BBQs. In fact, the people next to us were owners and when we wanted to make margaritas and couldn't find a blender in the kitchen, our neighbors brought one over to us. (Thanks, Paul).Anyways, had a great time and hope to stay there again.

I am a huge bargain shopper but for some reason I did not mind spending $175 a night in a motel. I had never been here before so my boyfriend and I decided to just randomly go to Seaside! When I called they thankfully had a night open on a Friday night. The lady at the front desk was very nice. She was training some other gal when we checked in and she was doing a great job. When we walked into our room it was absolutely amazing. The view was breathtaking. We were on the ground floor with ocean view. The bed was so comfortable and we are both picky sleepers. The bathroom was gorgues and spacious. Great water pressure. Housekeepers were very pleasent and accomadating. The carpets were in great shape. We definitely got what we deserved for our price that we paid. We will definitely be back and will tell people how great of a place this is!

Stayed here over the labor day weekend. Everything was wonderful. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage with a kitchen. The back door to our room led right to the pool. The staff was very nice and the location was very quiet. Only thing I noticed were the towels were very rough and thin. So we just used our own. Other than that, I will stay here again for sure!!

Room Tip: I would splurge for a cottage, very worth it, and still cheaper than most places in seaside!

We are a new family on aright budget so we were looking for the cheapest option in Seaside. The location is awesome and Seaside is a blast. However, the room was outdated and not renovated anytime in the past decade. Plus the walls are SUPER thin. We were somewhat comfortable but once the snoring from the couple in the adjacent room started roaring through, we lost a lot of respect for the place. The manager was helpful but just don't be a high maintenance doutche and you shouldn't have problems. Highly recommended for working class tourists that don't need all the glamour!
