“best baked penna ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2009

We had lunch at Maggie's today. Barb is always looking for the ultimate "mac & cheese" and may have found it here. The baked penna was outstanding. Crispy on the top with melted soft cheese throughout. I had the grilled shrimp sandwhich with melted cheese. Also very good. Get the clam chowder too - thick and tastety. One other had the penna and our fourth had the turkey reuben. Good with the soup of the day which was a bean and Italian sausage. A little bit of spicey but that's what he likes.
It's about a block south of the turnaround under the clock tower. Nice view of the beach and there is an outside deck to eat on too.

“Great place to eat at while in Seaside.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2009

-Restaurant is clean, decorated simply, but elegantly, not over the top

-Staff is very prompt, courteous, friendly, witty, knowledgeable

-Only a couple restaurants in Seaside with ocean view, it is very nice

-Reasonable prices

-Prime rib was tender, tasty beef, the salt/pepper/herb rub gave it a real nice flavor (you probably already know this, but pull the outside layer off and place it to the side of the plate first, otherwise the meat can be quite salty).

-Amazing potatoes au gratin

-Salmon prepared perfectly, soft, flaky, juicey, with a tasty, light lemon/herb crust

We can't wait to go back for breakfast.

“wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2009

My Granddaughter and I ate at Maggies on the promanode in Seaside Oregon. My grandaughter is glucose intolerant. We talked to the head chef and we were treated with utmost kindness and she got her meal that she wanted. It is so nice when the chef comes and talkes to you and accomadates you. Thank you. Job well done

“Still trying to get their act together”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2009

I was there 7/8/09 with a tour group of about 20. The chef came out to our tables (which were set up when we arrived) and told us he hadn't been advised of a group coming, but would do his best to get our food out as quickly as possible, but that he was the only one in the kitchen. It was two hours later before we all finished our lunch so the tour had to be extended for an hour. The clam chowder was good, but would not order the shrimp melt sandwich again. Some others in our group were very pleased with their food, but our table of four was disappointed. If I went there again, would have a cup of clam chowder and a glass of wine and after enjoying the ocean view, go elsewhere for entree.

“Good Food with Beautfiul Oceanviews at Maggie's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2009

We dined here a few times last summer before the name change and enjoyed the food very much. We just returned from another very nice dinner at this restaurant. We did not have a reservation and were seated after a short wait, our table for 2 had an oceanview, the restaurant was very crowded.

We brought in a bottle of Justin table wine to go with dinner, the corkage fee was $10/bottle which was very reasonable. Salads are included with your entree and you have your choice of either scalloped potatoes or rice for sides with your entree. I chose the Halibut which was very good and cooked to perfection encrusted with almonds and served oveer the scalloped potateoes. The green salad was fresh and pretty ordinary.

For dessert we remembered that we loved the fresh apple pie and they still had it, the pie was very good and served with a scoop of Vanilla Bean Tillamook ice cream. After dinner we enjoyed relaxing in the chairs in the back of the restaurant and while we took in the beautiful oceanviews.

I would recommend Maggie's on the Prom if you want a nice view with dinner, our service was a little slow but I understand that they are traiining the younger kids for the summer hours. Our water glasses remained empty throughout our meal. it would be nice if they could set some carafes of water out especially while the staff is training.

The ambiance is very nice and clean, it seemed as if everyone in the restaurant were enjoying their time at Maggie's. They also serve breakfast and lunch.
