“Good Food, Relaxed Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

This place has good pub fare in an older brick building with plenty of atmosphere to include a pot belly stove. The food is very good with fair portions. Our vegetarian friend was happy with her selection as well. Our server was friendly but not very knowledgeable regarding the menu and daily specials. This isn't a place to go if you're in a hurry, but a nice place to relax with friends.

“Great Food and Beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

Stopped for lunch with our kids when we were passing through. We had a amazing service, Scott. The family had a couple burgers and sodas. My daughter had the Portland Dip, it was really good. We recommend everyone to stop by and check out not only the food and brew, but the history too!

“Fantastic burger”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We wanted bar food, mid evening after dinner rush. We were seated at once and the slow service mentioned in other reviews wasn't evident to us. We both had burgers, my friend's with bacon, mine a basic burger, both ordered medium done. They arrived fairly quickly, cooked perfectly. Honestly, mine easy the best burger I've had in years. The server told me that they had just changed their supplier for both the patties (hand formed, never frozen) and buns (egg-washed before baking, delivered that morning). She also said she worked that week at some other McMenamin's restaurants and they hadn't the same suppliers. So get here quick if you want one of these. It's a chain, they'll end up going back to cheap. It's the way of the world, alas. But this burger was truly memorable. Fries were above average, and my friend's tots were outstanding. Plus they serve RC Cola on tap, a quirky delight. (I've found that Oregon is Pepsi country, finding Coke is nearly impossible. )

“Good food, SLOW service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

The wife and I ate here on Monday June 30th, 2014 around 6:00PM for dinner. When we arrived we were told to "sit anywhere" by what we assumed was a waitress but we weren't offered any menus. We picked a booth and the we sat...and waited...and waited. The same waitress walked past us twice and didn't offer us any menus or even look at us. Finally after what felt like 12-15 minutes another waiter finally came over and offered us menus. The wife ordered the "Mexicali Blues" salad and I had the turkey sandwich. Again, the wait for our food was longer than we felt necessary. When the food arrived everything tasted fine but the wife's salad came topped with a coarsely chopped hamburger. Really? And while the food tasted good we probably won't be back due to the SLOW service. Maybe if you drink lots of beer you won't notice?

“Great place to grab a bite and a bev.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

I like Boone's more than most of the other McMenamin's properties because of its size. It can be busy, but still has a cozy feel. Consistently good service, good food and great selection of beverages. Has a neighborhood bar feel to it.The staff is always super helpful and friendly.
