For Salem, this is pretty nice hotel. There is plenty of underground parking, the rooms are spacious and nice. It is located within a block's walk of shops, restuarants, and bars.
We booked this hotel for a wedding in April, and had no problems with our actual stay. The problems started when I saw that I had been charged twice - once on my credit card with which I reserved the room, and once on my debit card with which I paid for the room upon check out. When calling to sort it out, the hotel had mis-filed the record of my stay under a grossly misspelled version of my name, and the first few calls they were unable to find any record of it at all. When I finally established with them that I had stayed there, they could not/would not refund my double charge because it had been done with two different cards. After about 6 phone conversations, the voicemails I left for the manager went unreturned.
I eventually had to take the matter to my bank, which, to me, seems like a completely unprofessional way for a major hotel to resolve (and by resolve I mean pass the buck) a billing problem. Throughout the entire process I was polite, diligent, and understanding - perhaps I should have kicked and screamed.
If you stay here, keep in mind the staff may not be careful with billing or other bookkeeping matters, so check and double check your reciept and the charges made to your room. Use just one credit card for all charges since they clearly aren't sophisticated enough to handle more than one per guest.
