Went to Broken Bread for a retirement dinner. Service was good. There were approximately 18 of us and the service was satisfactory for that group. Especially since it was a Thursday evening and when we arrived there were no other patrons. The food left much to be desired. The salad was unusual. I can't even tell you what the dressing was supposed to be, but it was bitter. I had the fish and it was overcooked and mushy. The sauce was bland at best not adding to the meal at all. My broccoli was overcooked and even looked discolored. My wife had the meatloaf. It was an unusual mixture of meats but really had no distinct or inviting flavor. I will say that we were terribly disappointed with the meals themselves. I know we didn't use the wines to enhance our taste buds, but I believe the meal should be able to stand alone. This one didn't.
Will I return? Not by choice. If a friend again selects this site for a dinner, I will suggest another. If this is my only choice, I will go for the benefit of the friend.
