“Be sure to check Melrose Vineyards on the wine tour route”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

Any visit to the Roseburg area of southern Oregon should include a stop at the area's finest winery, Melrose Vineyards, which is six miles west of Interstate 5 and located on a hillside overlooking Garden Valley and all its vineyards.

Melrose Vineyards has been family owned and operated since 1996 and produces the areas most award winning wines with a specialty in pinot noir and pinot gris and their variations.

The tasting room is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes scenic overlooks of the vineyards, the event center and festival grounds as well as the surrounding hills and mountains of the Umpqua River basin.

Check the calendar also to see if your visit coincides with any of Melrose's special events that run every May through November including harvest time (which is usually September thru October).

On site amenities include:
Wine Tasting Bar
Gift Boutique
Awesome Setting for Private Events
No fee Wine Club
Exclusive Catering Services
Custom Gift Baskets
Outdoor Picnic Area
RV Parking
Pet Friendly
Shipping Available
Harvest Host Facility

Melrose Vineyards grapes are located on 150 acres in the Umpqua Valley on a two-mile stretch of bank on the South Umpqua River with an additional 100 acres nearby.

Sampling Melrose Vineyards wines tasting room is an experience that is worth the time even if it is just a quick stopover while traveling in the southern Oregon area. With a great, friendly staff and a wide variety of wines and cheeses, it is likely you will find a wine of your liking and can take extra with you or have it shipped anywhere in the world.

“Surprise - wine and grounds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

We were vowed by two of the wines, person in charge of tasting very knowledgable and helpful, great outdoor space for a picnic, not crowded on Monday when we visited.

“Very disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2012

While most of the staff is pleasant, the person in charge of the events is far less accomadating and even less pleasant to speak with than any of the other vineyards in the Roseburg area. Which is unfortunant because they do have wonderful events and even better wine. It is really too bad that they would put someone in charge that does not seem interested in trying to make the winery a pleasant experience for the people who come there. Especially with so many winery's to choose from here in the beautiful Umpqua Valley. I am sad to say after our recent experience we will no longer choose to go there for any of there events. Luckily there are many other winerys to choose from with wonderful events and the staff that actually appreciates you choosing their winery. It would be in their best interest to hire someone that is friendly and appreciates the customers as they are the ones that keeps the place going. Verey disappointed. ~Monica

“Cookin' Up A Storm with Big Daddy Wayne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Wayne is usually cookin' up some kind of treat at Melrose Winery, where he grows lots of grapes for a full spectrum of wines. He's a butcher, chef and caterer, and when I visited for a private dinner, he concocted a smoked cornish game hen with an awesome cranberry balsamic dressing along with grilled asparagus, which actually worked pretty nicely with his suggested pairing of Pinotage. He's one of the few to produce it in Oregon and it's made as big and powerful as he. The Sauv Blanc is lemongrassy and sassy. A great site for weddings and events, as long as Wayne's in the kitchen!
