“Okay Place to Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2011

Had I read the reviews prior to arrival, I may not have stayed here. But it appears management here has taken some of the poor comments to heart and has made an effort. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The big negative for me was outside the building. There was a big truck parked in a handicapped stall that was filled with junk! It appeared to have been there for quite some time...I think the license tabs had even expired. Since you "never get a second chance to make a first impression," this is how I will remember this hotel...the junky truck in the parking lot.

ComfortInn76, Manager at FairBridge Inn Express, responded to this review, July 19, 2011
Thank you for your comments regarding your stay here at the hotel. I do relaize that the truck was an eyesore. I have since spoke to the guest and she has cleaned up her truck. I was very unhappy when I got the review about the truck, but of course I do understand how things like that will stick in a person's mind, especially when they are traveling. The owner of the truck was actually a guest of the hotel and I pointed out her tags were expired and I even put the new ones on it for her.

Well thank you again MaryinWA for your comments. We are making strides to make the hotel a better place to stay and I appreciate your comments completely.

Sincerely,

Aaron Gaskey

Checked into room, found it dirty, lots of dust, floors had dirt and garbage on them. I was there 1 hour, pulled back the bedspread and there was fresh blood on under side. I left facility ASAP. The girl at the desk said that they don't wash them after each visit and no motel does, or they would run out of bed spreads. I said, even if blood is on them? She said that one should have been changed. Lobby dirty appearing!

We chose this Comfort Inn over the neighboring Windmill Inn simply because the price was slightly better--both were pet-friendly but Comfort Inn included the pet fee in the $70+tax price we were quoted.

But the room we got wasn't even made up yet. No worries, we were sent to another room a couple doors down which was clean and tidy. The pool area was somewhat run down, but the pool and spa were both warm (within a few degrees of one another) and seemed to be clean--although the towels at the pool had run out. The next morning's breakfast was overly crowded with too few tables and not enough elbow room for the modest crowd at the continental self-help counter, which was just bad efficiency given there was a meeting room next door. I couldn't help but notice the piles of unwashed linens and towels in open view behind the staff service areas, and have to wonder if the employees are simply overwhelmed and understaffed, or just don't care?

My experience with this Comfort Inn was topped off with the bill, where I was charged a pet fee of $15 on top of the original all-inclusive $70, and then charged an occupancy tax on top of the pet fee!!!!!! (I'll slip that into my dog's deductions when she files her taxes this year!!!!)

I know these are tough times for hotels, but experiences like this simply drive customers to other hotels who care more.

The first thing you notice is that the room carpet is dirty. The bathroom was not cleaned well as there was hair on the floor. Several light bulbs were burned out.

Hotel has pool and hot tub, but I would not even put my foot into either of them. Pool was green and hot tub had horrible oily film growing on top. When I brought this up to the manager, he assurred us the pool was tested and was safe. I was wondering where he got his test kit from! Carpets were filthy throughout.

So were do i even start!!!!! The young girl that was at the front desk was very nice, but the lady that was up there playing on her face book not so much!!!!!!! So we get checked in and go to our rooms, and we start looking aroud.............. The beds were not clean there was nast stuff in are sheets in BOTH rooms and all 4 beds, the bathrooms were nasty. One of the toilets had pee and mold in it and in the same bathroom the was blood on the ruber bathmat. The carpets were not clean or the rooms were just nasty, so we went down to the lobby to let them know and that we would like clean sheets and stuff to clean the bathrooms, so the young lady was very helpful and got use what we needed the other lady NOT AT ALL, and from what i understand she is the OWNER of the hotel!!!!!!!!! We get back to the rooms and start taking the sheets of the bed and the pillow cases off the pillow and like 4 or 5 of the pillows had stains and blood spots on them that were being covered up by the pillow cases!!!!!! SICK!!!!! I just dont know how they are staying open it is nasty!!! Do not stay in this hotel ever no matter what!!!!! O and the pool was nasty it was like a green color and you could not see the bottom of it!!!!!!
