We just returned from a mini-vacation at Eagle Crest in Redmond, Oregon. It's a 20 minute ride to downtown Bend. I can't say enough good things about the resort. There's so much to do on the property, that you don't even have to explore the area, BUT you will because central Oregon has lots of exciting outdoor activities to offer. However, I will restrain myself and just write about the resort.
Eagle Crest has acres of high-desert fun. Three 18-hole golf courses, plus an 18-hole putting course. Well maintained trails for walking, hiking, and biking. We did all three. Three sports centers with pools, hot tubs, racquet ball, tennis, fitness rooms and exercise classes. A 'town square' with shopping and dining. The best part is that all of the out-door areas are dog-friendly.
Now to the room. The positives first. It was dog-friendly as long as you kept your pet in a crate while you were not there. You could even walk with your dog in the lobby. There was a washer and dryer on our floor. You could set your own wall-mounted thermostat in your room. The cafe had to-go items, drinks/ food, and their prices for breakfast were reasonable. The negatives next. We had a queen room that was on the small size. Once the crate was set up there was only a narrow path around the bed. The window would not open. Our window was level with the gravel/grass outside. We had a view of the parking lot. The bed squeaked. The mini-fridge was not very cold, even on the highest setting. The fiberglass bathtub was cheap. When pulling up the shower knob, the faucet felt like it was coming off.
