“Terrific Resort...Room Not as Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

We just returned from a mini-vacation at Eagle Crest in Redmond, Oregon. It's a 20 minute ride to downtown Bend. I can't say enough good things about the resort. There's so much to do on the property, that you don't even have to explore the area, BUT you will because central Oregon has lots of exciting outdoor activities to offer. However, I will restrain myself and just write about the resort.
Eagle Crest has acres of high-desert fun. Three 18-hole golf courses, plus an 18-hole putting course. Well maintained trails for walking, hiking, and biking. We did all three. Three sports centers with pools, hot tubs, racquet ball, tennis, fitness rooms and exercise classes. A 'town square' with shopping and dining. The best part is that all of the out-door areas are dog-friendly.
Now to the room. The positives first. It was dog-friendly as long as you kept your pet in a crate while you were not there. You could even walk with your dog in the lobby. There was a washer and dryer on our floor. You could set your own wall-mounted thermostat in your room. The cafe had to-go items, drinks/ food, and their prices for breakfast were reasonable. The negatives next. We had a queen room that was on the small size. Once the crate was set up there was only a narrow path around the bed. The window would not open. Our window was level with the gravel/grass outside. We had a view of the parking lot. The bed squeaked. The mini-fridge was not very cold, even on the highest setting. The fiberglass bathtub was cheap. When pulling up the shower knob, the faucet felt like it was coming off.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with either a balcony or patio. On the first floor they would be 116-126. Rooms 10...

Thank you for the trip advisor review of Eagle Crest Resort. We appreciate your comments about the activities available at the resort and in Central Oregon. As you noted we do have pet friendly guestrooms available and they are very popular. We also have a selection of accommodations including golf view rooms and king suites which have an extensive amount of space. Thanks again for the review. We hope to welcome you back in the near future.
Sincerely,

Holiday Inn now runs the Lodge. We stayed for a week and the surroundings were beautiful. However, the Lodge hotel itself is getting old and in need of refurbishment. There was not one chair which was comfortable to sit in, and the bathroom fixtures were very dated and in need of replacement.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the cost of the stay was reasonable. The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful.

Thanks for the Trip Advisor review. Glad to hear that you found Eagle Crest Resort to be beautiful and provided good value. Also, we were pleased to know that the staff was friendly and accommodating. Sorry that the guest room accommodations did not meet your expectations. Having recently completed an extensive guestroom renovation I was surprised by your comment related the condition of the guestroom and bathroom fixtures. Thanks again for the feedback, hope to welcome you back soon.

In town for business, a colleague made this reservation for me ahead of time. Check-in was fast and efficient, even on a Saturday evening. The room was clean and spacious. The heating/AC unit has a "constant fan" feature which I enjoy to provide background noise. The bed was quite comfortable. I did not make use of many of the amenities at this resort. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a very large property and since the sun comes up around 5 AM in the morning the paved walking/bicycle paths were great for that early morning stroll. They had tame, people friendly deer that you could feed and sometimes pet. The location of this resort was nice. The units themselves were a bit worn and outdated. We rented a condo unit and the upstairs bedroom got hot in the afternoons since the sun just beat down in through the skylight windows and since they didn't have screen doors, you couldn't open up the door to cool it down without all the bugs coming into the unit. Also, if you had more than 3 people needing to shower consecutively you were out of luck with the hot water. I found those two items minor in comparison with our overall stay. There was so much to do in the area that we didn't take advantage of too much on the property...the pools got crowded very early in the day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I wish I was a golfer as they had 3 courses on the property and the weather was great for golfing. I would definitely stay here again especially since parking was free and right in front of your unit.

Traveling on business I booked this on line through Hotwire due to the TripAdvisor rating and cost. It's actually a resort about 5 miles south of Redmond so once you are here you don't want to leave. The amenities are too long to list so go on line and read about them. This is a newer property and resort so the rooms, grounds, pool and everything else are spotless and beautiful. My room was average size and well decorated but short on power outlets For a business traveler this might be a bit far from town but for a family on vacation or a long weekend get-away I think it would be perfect.

Attended a conference here in early July. Check in was smooth and easy, my room was ready in the early afternoon. 1st floor, corner room. I usually don't like 1st floor rooms, but this was was actually pretty quiet even with a family in the room above mine. Heard a little walking around in the evening, but it wasn't as bad as I've experienced at other places. The property here is beautiful. I took advantage of some free time one morning and did a little flyfishing on the Deschutes river adjacent to the resort. Three golf courses VERY close and a great restaurant, Niblick's & Greene, just around the corner. The room was great, as were the conference facility and all the employees I met. It's not the cheapest place in the area, but I believe one of the best.

Room Tip: Upper floors are quieter and if wifi is really important to you, make sure your closer to the front...

This is now a Holiday Inn property which is located just outside of Sisters, Redmond and Bend. For us the location is perfect as we like to sleep in quiet! We requested a ground floor room for our ancient dog. Our room was perfect for us! Away from the family filled swimming pool which is Very popular! toward the end of the property. There are lots of dogs staying here. Our room had no smell what so ever! The room was large with a kitchenette, small refrig, etc. We never use this but it was nice to store our dog food in for this trip. It seems they are putting money into fixing up this location as the walk was completely removed down to gravel at one entrance. Our 1 bedroom king only had a shower which was rather annoying as it gets water everywhere in the bathroom! Besides I like my bath! Kline Falls is right around the corner for tubing and picnics. We had dinner at Black Butte about 20 mins away.Granted it is not a 5 star lux resort, but that is not what it is..Loved the fireplace and the space! They also have horseback riding and golf! For us, with our dog, the rate was great, sleep perfect, location excellent.

Room Tip: The rooms on the canyon side have amazing views, if you have a dog they have ground floor sliders th...
