“Just ok- mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

On the plus side this resort is very beautiful and offers alot of activities which are included in your stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful at the Hotel part of the resort. You can rent all sorts of bicycles and they have safe bike trails to follow. The put-put golf course was amazing. My daughter and I even played horseshoes for the first time.

On the down side I encountered some things I didn't like. First I was unaware that we would have to drive a mile to each of the recreation centers every time we wanted to do something. That was annoying and I was never told upon booking this is how the resort was set up. Second, they have 3 places to eat at the resort but each one is only open at certain times of the day. One night we were told the wrong time that the restaurant for dinner opened. Turns out we were an hour early and the bar opened at the time we came. The girl who worked there had the audacity to tell me (since my kids couldn't go into the bar) that I could go in and beg the guy to let us order and sit on the couch in the waiting area and eat. Very unprofessional and outright rude!! We ended up driving a half hour to Bend to eat at a Shari's restaurant! Lastly, I paid to relax and looked forward to getting in the hot tub at the end of the night. When we got to the hot tub I found it packed with about 15 loud teenagers. Didn't know until they were finally leaving that they had snuck into the resort and weren't even staying there! This place had nobody around to watch the grounds and no security gate so outsiders cannot come in.
The price was very affordable for everything included, but I doubt I will ever make the 3 hour drive there again.

Thank you for your review of Eagle Crest Resort. We were pleased to learn that you were able to enjoy the many activities available at our extensive resort and that you and your daughter particularly enjoyed our 18 hole natural grass putting course. Additionally it was great to know that the majority of our staff was friendly and service orientated. I do however apologize for the unacceptable service you received from one of our restaurant partners. The experience you described is not typical of the high standards we strive to achieve and I assure you we will take the appropriate action to insure it does not reoccur. Also, I am sorry that you were disturbed by non-registered guests while attempting to utilize our outdoor hot tub. Our Resort Services team regularly patrols the resort grounds and facilities and I regret that this isolated incident impacted your experience. Thank you again for your comments. If I can be of further service please contact me.

Sincerely

This is our second visit to Eagle Crest. The first was a stay at the lodge which was great and this time we used our timeshare exchange. We had a 3 bedroom Townhome with Hot Tub overlooking the river. The building is older but the interior couldn't have been more accommodating. Nice large master upstairs with whirlpool bath, shower and a balcony to walk out on. Gas fireplace downstairs in comfortable living room with wall to wall windows and French doors. Good size deck which overlooks the river and canyon also includes natural gas "Weber" BBQ and Hot Tub. Deck Furniture included 2 tables, 8 chairs and 2 lounge chairs for soaking up the sun. If you are used to bringing a car load of items to make your stay more comfortable, this will be a pleasant surprise. All you need is your suitcase and food for the days you choose to cook and you will have an awesome place to hang out at. The property itself is well taken care of. There are 3 golf courses, 3 activity centers, lots of pools and hiking trails too. You can look on the website for all the resort has to offer. Restaurant & Bar, Niblicks & Greens is perfect for a resort like Eagle Crest. The food is great and there is something for everyone. You can dress up or dress down, a nice but casual atmosphere. The bar next door has entertainment on the weekend and during the week can be a great place to relax after an active day or a great place to just stop in for some drinks while watching sports on one of many flat screen TV's. The staff in the bar and restaurant are great, very accommodating. There is a deli next door that serves a light breakfast and lunch with large seating area both inside and outside on a patio overlooking a small pond. Both the food and service is great here as well. There too many other great things to mention here about the property, you will just need to find out for yourself. If you are a golfer, please take the time and look up Kevin Story, in the golf pro shop. Kevin gave us a lesson on the Resort course. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable and the time spent was "all about us". Thanks Kevin.

Room Tip: We didn't use room service since we are staying for the week. There is a washer and dryer insid...

Thank you for your comprehensive review of Eagle Crest Resort. It was great to learn that you are a repeat visitor and had positive experiences during your stays with us. It appears that you were able to experience many of the activities and venues available at the resort and were favorably impressed by both the physical attributes as well as the service. We will be sure to pass along your compliments to our restaurant partners as well as to our Assistant Golf Professional Kevin Story who provided the golf lesson. We look forward to welcoming you back for future visits.

Sincerely,

My family and I visited Eagle Crest at the end of last summer. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit with the upstairs master bedroom. The room itself was amazing; much nicer than other timeshare resorts we have visited. I was pleasantly surprised by how kid friendly the resort was. From planning activities for kids of various ages to discounted (or free) greens fees for kids.

My only issue with the resort was the Mosquito problem. The resort did post sign making guests aware of the issue, but it made going outside a bit of a problem. After a round of golf on the second day, I woke up the next morning to find 27 bites on my legs and arms. I didn't matter if it was morning, mid-afternoon or at night... the bugs were always biting. The only thing that seemed to work was the Deep Woods Off that contained a high level of Deet.

I really want to go back to this resort, but I don't want to spend a week battling the bugs again. Does anyone know if there is a better time to visit this area when the bugs aren't as much of an issue?

Thanks

Thank you for the review of your experiences at Eagle Crest. Late last spring the Redmond area experienced an unusually high level of mosquitoes for a brief period. This was the first time this had occurred in recent memory and based upon history we do not anticipate it reoccurring. We were pleased to learn that your family enjoyed the accommodations and the numerous activities available at the resort. We hope to welcome you back one again this season.

Sincerely,

We were able to book five rooms for our family that was attending a wedding in nearby Redmond, Oregon. The hotel staff was very pleasant and used our names while welcoming us at check-in. They also arranged all of rooms on the same floor on the same wing, which was very convenient. We rented the king bed suite and enjoyed the two sinks, in separate areas that allowed individual use while the other one was in the main bathroom. plus a kitchenette and separate living area. The room was very quiet and this was a bonus for the special family wedding weekend.

Room Tip: When making multiple bookings ask if they will group the rooms in the same area.

This is one of the strangest properties at which I've stayed. I was part of a group and the front desk experience was a comedy of errors, one of which was made on our side, but which in combination resulted in an hour-long check-in process at midnight. On the other hand, Mark did an excellent job setting up our meeting rooms. The sink had four long thick black hairs in it at check-in, there were no housekeeping staff on duty at the time, and changing rooms would have resulted in needing to check out at 11:00 the next day only to check back into a different room at 15:00. Sound insulation between rooms was poor.

Thank you for the feedback on your recent stay in The Lodge at Eagle Crest. I apologize for the delay and confusion as you attempted to check in during the late evening hours and for the subsequent housekeeping issues you experienced in your guestroom. Both of these of these opportunities are of great concern to us as this is far from the typical experience encountered by the vast majority of our customers. I assure you that we will review your comments with our team and take the appropriate action to avoid potential similar situations in the future. On a positive note we were pleased to learn that Mark in our Conference Center was helpful in arranging your meeting room needs. We hope that despite your isolated concerns you will give us the opportunity to be of service to you in the future. If I may be of assistance please contact me.

Sincerely,
Geoff Roemelt

The Lodge at Eagle Crest proved to be a wonderful midwinter getaway. Central Oregon is blessed with enormous vistas, sunny weather and relatively mild temperatures. Snow sports were a short distance away and the golf courses were open and useable in February. Lodging at the hotel was spacious and comfortable. Best of all was the hotel staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, personable and willing to assist with any request. The one downside to the visit was the closure of the dining room for dinner meals during winter. If you are satisfied with continental breakfast and a sandwich luncheon, it will work. Otherwise, a trip to Redmond, Sisters or Bend Oregon is necessary for dinner. They are all close by and have a wide range of eats depending on your preferences.

Thanks for the great review of Eagle Crest. You are correct in that we are close to the many activities available in Central Oregon and have great views and vistas. We were happy to learn that our staff and service was the best part of your visit and that you found the Lodge spacious and comfortable. While there are nearby restaurants in Redmond/Bend we also have two on site restaurants/ dining facilities available in Niblicks & Greene as well as Silverleaf Café in addition to our Greenside Café. We hope to see you back in the future.

The newly remodeled king suite w/ fireplace are extremely confortable. Breakfast, however, is pretty non-descript (also, not included). The on site dinner restaurant is pretty good. I enjoyed the carpenter steak (rib-eye with shrimp on top).
