I had a wonderful week-long stay at this boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Portland. Beautiful room, great view, comfy bed, and a huge bathroom with a "rain" shower - and oh yeah, a tub! Maybe I'm easily impressed, but what normal hotel has a tub? Even the bathrobe seemed softer than usual.
The Daily Grill restaurant / bar downstairs was also top-notch. Friendly, convenient, and trendy without trying too hard - one night (Tuesday, I think) we were surprised to walk into a tasting of local flavored vodkas and complimentary snacks. I don't think it was open to the public, but they welcomed us anyway. The whole experience was positive and effortless, especially compared to the dinner we had at the overly trendy (and strangely Southern themed?) hotel deLuxe.
This was my first time in Portland, so the Westin's central location also paid off. The nearby food trucks are fun to explore, and we enjoyed a good traditional seafood meal at Fred's down the street. The front desk staff as well as the valets were always helpful giving directions with a smile.
What else can I say about this place? There's Starbucks in the room! Not that you need it; Public Domain coffee is right next door, but it's just one of the many little details that make up the lovely Westin Portland.

The tasting of local spirits is our Pairing Party, and is offered to our SPG and frequent travelers. It is a fun way to connect us to our guest, them to Portland, and to their fellow road warriors. Our hope is to create a sense of community amongst our guests and offer unique SPG experiences.
