“Very nice lobby; great concierge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

I was worried about our stay baased on other reviews. We stayed 4 nights and had a very good experience. When we arrived, I asked to be switched from 2 doubles to 1 king and although we had to wait a few hours, that was fine and we got the room. I have a king bed at home and the bed was closer to a queen, at best, but it's this hotel's version of a king. Our room was in the executive tower, which is across the street and on the diagonal corner from the regular Hilton. No big deal. Unlike other posters, our room was up-to-date with furnishings.
The lobby of the tower has free wifi so I was there quite a bit to work while my husband was at his conference. Very comfortable and quiet. Concierges were WONDERFUL and friendly. They stored our luggage while we wandered the city and it was no charge and they even would stow laptops, which was different than our experience at other Hiltons.
Our room was clean and sufficient. View was nothing remarkable, but we didn't expect one.
I think this hotel is in an excellent location for walking all over, and also to access the public transportation.
If I were coming back, I'd probably stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for Executive Tower.

While never more than a couple blocks away from transit in downtown portland, this hotel is about a block away from the MAX red line to/from airport.
Only reason overall is 4 stars instead of 5 was the hotel restaurant and bar food. Not that good. Thankfully there are a large number of restaurants in the area.
Don't forget about the Central Eastside Industrial District - some great restaurants like Clarklewis.

The hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. My corner room had a view of the office building next door, which was not so spectacular. Their was a nice coffee maker set up in the room but no mini-fridge.

Spent a 4-day weekend at this Hilton for a conference with 600+ folks in attendance. The meeting facilities worked great for us and the staff took good care. My room was spacious and clean and -- thankfully -- quiet. The big "however" was the lack of diet accommodations for those with gluten or lactose problems and the time it took to respond to special requests for easy substitutes. Overall, though, a great central location in downtown Portland and a pleasant stay.

Overall, quite satisfied with the quality of the hotel. The wireless internet, though, seemed more complex than necessary to access. During a conference in a reserved room, access was limited. Room quality and cleanliness was very good. Would recommend.

Excellent service, thanks to Tayo at the front desk! It was my 21st birthday and he sent up treats and a bottle of champagne for me and my friends, courtesy of the hotel. It was such a kind gesture and I am very grateful!

I stayed here for two nights for work recently - in the Executive Tower. The hotel was in a great location - close to lots of places to eat, shop and a block from the light rail stop to the airport.

The room was good sized, very clean and comfortable. The bed was wonderful. The staff was all helpful and friendly.

My only complaint were the charges for internet access. I knew that they charged and irritates me but lots of other hotels do this also - but they charge by device by day. I have not seen this before and had charges I was not expecting when I checked out. That factor would make me at least look at other options the next time I stay in downtown Portland even though all other aspects of the hotel were very pleasing. $10 per day per device is a little cheap and who travels with only 1 device these days?
