Staying at the Georgian House was more like visiting the welcoming home of an old friend. Tina was so warm, welcoming, and eager to share info about places to visit and eat in Portland. She was always ready with a smile and a story, making everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. I stayed in the suite on the lower level that was adorable but not as bright as the rooms on the 2nd floor, although I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. The cozy feel of the sun room invited book reading on rainy mornings and the deck was the perfect place to have an evening glass of wine in the late sunshine overlooking gardens that are amazing. What a great find the Georgian House is!

My friend and I stayed for 2 nights at the Georgian House B&B - partly as a more personal and comfortable alternative to a hotel, partly because breakfast and street parking were included (unlike most hotels), and partly because they (as far as I could tell) are one of the only B&Bs that have the option of having 2 beds in a room. In our room it was a futon and a bed.

Tina was just lovely, treated us extremely well and was a pleasure to be around. We stayed in the Captain Irving room on the bottom floor (basement) which was very large, charming, cozy and warm with an electric fireplace. A private bathroom is just across the hall. The whole house is really beautiful and historic. My friend and I had fun finding all the different "collection themes" around the house. Bicycles, hats, rabbits....

Breakfast was simple and good - scrambled eggs, toast or croissants, homemade freezer jam, fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and tea.

The B&B is also in a great location - a gorgeous residential neighbourhood on the east side of Portland where we like to hang out, very close to some good restaurants off MLK, and within easy driving distance of downtown.

We would definitely stay here again next time we come to Portland!

Room Tip: The Captain Irving room on the bottom level (basement) is very large and cozy, with a private bath a...

Enjoyed an anniversary getaway and this was a perfect spot to relax in between exploring the the local shops, parks and restaurants.
Tina whipped up a delicious breakfast tailored to meet my husbands gluten free needs and was lovely company.
And as geocache enthusiasts, there are plenty of caches in walking distance.

Room Tip: The bathroom is shared but was never a problem, there are 2 rooms with shared bath and 2 with privat...

The Georgian House turned out to be a nice little B&B in a wonderful neighborhood in the northeastern section of Portland, Oregon. We stayed in the Lovejoy Suite which was a large room with a nice size private bath. It was about twice as big as the other two guest rooms which didn't appear to have bathrooms aside from access to the one at the end of the hall. The location was convenient to a nice grocery store and several good restaurants, and it was a treat to be able to leave the car parked and walk a few blocks to those places. The surrounding neighborhood also was perfect for running or walking, and we saw quite a few people getting around on bicycles. Tina was great about giving us directions, and in addition to keeping the Georgian House nice and clean, she served us two outstanding breakfasts while we were there. Since I had to make a couple of runs to the Portland airport, it was nice that the Georgian House also was within convenient driving distance.

Room Tip: The Lovejoy Suite clearly was the best room in the house. It was twice as big as the other two gues...

While it is not the same as when Willie was still alive and in charge, it is still a nice place to stay while visiting my son in Portland. It is homey, warm and in a great location for those visiting the NE section of Portland.

Room Tip: If you like an en suite bathroom, choose the Captain Irving or Lovejoy Suite. The other 2 rooms sha...

My husband and I just returned home from a 5 night stay here while we visited our daughter in Portland. We were very happy from the moment we entered and were greeted by Tina. The place is immaculate and beautifully decorated. Our room upstairs was lovely. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the private deck right outside our room. It was unusually warm for July in Portland so we were grateful for the room air conditioner. We shared a bathroom with one other room but it was never an inconvenience for us.
As for the food...delicious! Tina gave us choices of pancakes, french toast, incredibly great scrambled eggs, along with plenty of coffee and orange juice. We were treated to as much as we wanted. The topping on the whole breakfast was the fresh fruit salad, complete with berries picked by Tina that morning in the backyard! She couldn't do enough for us.
The house is conveniently located within walking distance to Broadway, which has numerous kinds of restaurants and shops and the bus to downtown. We enjoyed several walks in the neighborhood.
We will definitely be back next time we visit Portland.

Room Tip: We stayed upstairs and it was incredibly quiet. We really liked having our own deck. We spoke to fol...

Our bed at this place was so old and saggy that we each had to hold on to the side to keep from rolling to the center. It made for a miserable nights sleep! The owner needs to open his wallet and replace this awful mattress! Breakfast was the most minimal and poor we've ever had in a B&B ! Burnt scrambled eggs and a hard grain filled toast nearly impossible to chew!
Outside of coffee and juice that was it! For a hundred and forty dollars - are they kidding !!
Don't believe the reviews - they must be from people with NO standards. Skip this place!!!!
