4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

It took a little bit of an effort to find this hotel since we arrived after dark. From the outside, the hotel looks like any other Best Western Inn, lots of parking spaces, adequate standing room in the reception area for large groups, and long check-in counter with friendly and attentive staffing. Once we entered our room we were rather impressed with its deco, the large and beautiful bathroom, the soap and shampoo dispenser in the shower, and the warm welcoming paint job that made even our children feel at home. Our room seemed rather large with a flat screen TV strategically hung on the wall for easy viewing from almost anywhere in our room. We slept soundly in our queen beds because of the thick and comfortable mattresses and fluffy pillows. Our room also smelled fresh and clean. The housekeeping staff did a terrific job of keeping our room clean and well stocked with linen and towels.
We also like the full breakfast meals provided. Fresh orange wedges, red and green apples, bananas, yogurts, cereals, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, oatmeal, pancakes, raisin bread, English muffins, skim and low fat milk, apple and orange juice are all part of what was available for our breakfast.
Even though the hotel isn't close to the Pearl, Pioneer Square, and the main district of downtown Portland, it is right close to the interstate, so it is easy for us to drive to and from to anywhere we wanted to visit. Come to think of it, it was rather quite in the evening too.
We definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who visit Portland. Bon voyage!

Room Tip: Room 245 was our room. Its on the second floor. By the way the view of the parking lot, but we like...

Very clean, nice, modern hotel and rooms. Front desk staff very efficient and friendly. Slow response time to the room and no room service (food), but not a big deal. Breakfast included wasn't bad, would have preferred not to see all the disposable dishes and cutlery. Overall very happy with the stay. Easy to get onto the I5 or MLK and go anywhere in town. Would definitely stay here again!

Hello,
Let me say I had a very enjoyable stay at this Hotel. It's not the fanciest hotel in Portland but that's not what I was looking for. And I wanted to keep my rate below 100.00 per/night.
This fit the bill perfectly! I had a coupon code from Travelocity (email) for 75.00 off min. 4 night stay. Perfect!
Check in was smooth, The lobby is really nice. The room was updated throughout with a 40" widescreen led TV. They have a breakfast buffet from 6-10am that will leave you stuffed! everything was excellent and the young lady attendant kept everything stocked up nicely. You won't need a lunch after. Trust me!
I wanted to mention the young guy at the front desk, I was in town to run the Portland Holiday Half Marathon and had to catch a shuttle from Damiler USA to the start line at 6am Sunday morning. He went out of his way to get me a detailed map using the Max line( block away) The Max wouldn't get me all the way there so I had to catch a bus the rest of the way. Without that map Wow! I would of been lost...Thank You!
Lot's of family type restaurants around and a convenience store nearby. plenty of parking. Stay here and beat the high downtown rate. Just take the Max Line. Enjoy!

Room Tip: I didn't use the outdoor spa. so no comment. The area may be a little skectchy late at night. A...

Staff was unprofessional, hall noise all night. Will not stay there again. Was close to train station so getting into Portland city was the highlight. Recently remodeled rooms all the removed items stack in the rear of the motel and visible from all the windows. Looked trashy

Hello,

I apologize if our staff was unprofessional. I would love it if you could give us a call and let us know about some specifics about your experience. We always strive to provide the best customer service and am sorry you did not receive this. It is good to hear that you used the Max Yellow line. It is so nice to take the train into downtown and having to worry about finding parking and paying for it. We hope that you give us another chance and see what improvements have been done to the hotel.

Thanks,
BEST WESTERN Inn at the Meadows Staff

We were on a quest to Vancouver, WA to attend the Winter Brew Fest. We stayed at the Meadows because of its proximity to the Trimet/Maxx light rail system. The hotel is conveniently located near I-5. It was easy to get to and we were delighted with the cleanliness of the property. All of the personnel were courteous and pleasant. They made our stay delightful. We have stayed at more than 20 BW sites in the past 2 years and this is the best of all of them. Breakfast was a step up from the normal fare: High quality eggs, sausage and potatoes.

Hello Leo B,

It is so nice to hear what a great stay you had our hotel. We pride ourselves on providing the best possible customer service and the cleanest accommodations. There are a lot of hotels to choice from and we always try to set ourselves apart from them. I was also at Winter Brew Festival and like you enjoyed some great beers. We hope that you come next year for the beer festival and stay with us again.

Thanks,

We were delighted to find a great deal on this hotel and sort of held our breath as we drove to the area. We were pleasantly surprised. The desk staff were exceedingly helpful, the MAX was a short walk and we easily made our way downtown Portland. We were visiting the city for the first time, following a business meeting. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It was clean and well maintained. The breakfast area was very busy, but staff were present and attentive.

Hello Nextdoor2u,

Isn't it nice to be pleasantly surprised. Even though we are not in downtown or a Four Seasons we try to offer the service and accommodations of the 5 star hotels. We believe that our superior customer service sets us apart from all the other hotels. It's nice to see that you got a good deal as well. We appreciate you recommending us to other travels and leaving a review on Trip Advisor. We hope to see you next time you are in Portland and hopefully this trip can be for pleasure and not work.

Thanks,
