From the flower-in-a-vase and chocolate waiting for us, along with a personalized note, everything was perfect. Front desk and concierge service were superb. Helpful, friendly, professional, always with a smile. Highly recommend.

Excellent location, incredibly helpful staff, clean and well-equipped gym. Highly recommended. We stayed in a room with two double beds that was large, airy and very clean. Also quiet despite being on the street side of the hotel.

Amazing hotel. I stayed here when it was The Governor and I LOVE how they've renovated the place. We stayed here on a whim after running down to Portland with some friends. Both of us booked a regular queen room and ended up getting upgraded to the Parlor Suite...not sure if I'll be able to stay in a regular room again. Great surprise! Beds were so comfortable and they had a nice mix of boutique hotel in the bedding and rustic NW flair with the plaid wool blanket. The staff are very sweet, courteous and made us feel welcomed. Jack Knife bar next door is absolutely divine and a great hang out. Definitely recommend staying here...I didn't want to leave.

Stayed here for one night to celebrate a birthday and explore PDX. Staff was very helpful and upgraded our room, which was beautiful and clean! The bed was comfy and the bar downstairs was awesome. I would love to come back and stay here sometime!

Had a corner room king suite and was pleasantly surprised to find a deck with a table and four comfy chairs. Views over downtown were a plus. Nice place to have a microbrew in the afternoon or a morning coffee.

For our recent anniversary trip we had one night stay over in Portland and decided to try the recently renovated Governor. We like to be able to walk the cities we visit and the location is great for that. We, to our surprise, were also upgraded to a top floor suite with views of the west hills. A very pleasant and appreciated surprise. In sure that skews my view of the hotel but none the less. Also as most have mentioned the staff compares very favorably to their competition. The hotel itself retains much of the old charm of the original old Governor that we found very pleasant. Those of you looking for a new art deco style stay will be disappointed. Of particular note with respect to the location is you are in walking distance to a great breakfast spot just a few blocks away called Tasty & Alder and conveniently right across the street from that is outstanding coffee from Heart Coffee Roasters. Thank you again to the hotel for making our stay a memorable one.

From the signature aroma in the hallway to the friendly staff it was a perfect 10! I would definitely stay at the Sentinel again. The history of the building is fascinating along with the large photos that capture history through out the hallways.
