“Very pretty trails”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014 via mobile

Really enjoyed hiking a few trails. Heard a few birds. Didn't see many. Great gift shop. Older gentleman outside helping campers was very helpful to us by answering questions. Saw the resident birds.

“Peaceful setting in the woods”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

We stopped by to see some of the birds on display and hike through some of the trails--make sure you have good footing as some of the trails can be a bit slippery. We were able to see a hawk and owl up close courtesy of the volunteer handlers who are very knowledgeable about the wildlife.

“Serene Escape From The City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

The Audubon Society of Portland provides a nice stroll through the woods and you may get to see some bigger birds up close too. Parking can be a little tricky if you go on the weekend. I had to drive down the road a bit and park along the side of the road. There are trails on both side of the road. We chose the trails on the north side of the road. After a slight decline, there is a nice trail system in which you can pretty make your own loop. The only out and back trail is the Creek Trail. I had to backtrack a bit on one. It can get a little too sloppy with mud in a few places. There are a few interpetive signs along the way. There is also a nice shelter near the pond where one can relax and enjoy the sounds of the birds and nature. When we were there, the visitor center was open and volunteers were out. Some of them were holding bigger birds. I didn't stop long enough to ask what kind. At the trailhead on the north side near the center, there was a raven on display. There is no fee to use the trails. It is one of many places in the Portland area to escape the city without going too far. Always a good thing.
